why would they bring something out at only 640 by 480 resolution - they missed out on being the first pocket recorder with HD

@drumsjazzman --- I'm sure they will come out with an HD camcorder version with their excellent high resolution mic recording capabilities. However, it is the perfect camcorder for someone like me who does not have the latest computer set up which can run the high definition software for that type of video. The picture quality looks to be good enough for what I need it for, and the sound quality and recording features are exactly where I need them to be.

Why didn't they just add an HD camera into this. With the 2X digital zoom the image quality is just terrible.

The sound of course is amazing, but I think the image should be more decent than this.

I don't know about the Q3....I have listen to every available video here on the tube so far and the same problem seems to be present...the audio sounds choked. Its like someone put a blanket of the mic. I think the video is Ok but it's just not what I would expect for this recorder at a $199 to @250 price point.....I get better sound and video from my cheap flip camera.

may i remind u this is a condenser mic they put on the camera .. condensers or used for mainly overhead mics or to be put on the snare... not for full band recordings... this camera has great sound quality and is one of the best mini portable cameras out there.. this is gonna be just about as close u can get to live studio recordings without rigging ur entire set ... and or other instruments
