well kojic acid is carcinogenic too, esp to those people with history of cancer...tanning(in excess) however is carcinogenic as well...so people use your common sense when receiving info ...its always how u react to the products, its not in general, its an individuals reaction..

@sunishyn I think you are being idiotic. the lady is giving a fair warning for a product that has been effective. There are tons of stuff you eat and put on your skin that are probably just as dangerouse and you dont even know it. HQ has risks. Its better to work with the safer alternatives but one can use HQ without worrying about dropping dead from it. its a matter of what concentration you use and how long you use it.

There has not been evidence that it causes cancer in humans, but it did in lab rats.

I haven't heard of the birth defects thing.. that's likely not true, or there hasn't been evidence of it.

I'd avoid it, as it thins your skin anyway.

@bryana28 go to your doctor and ask for a referral to a dermatologist. Theyare the correct people to help you. Also try glycolic acid peel at a skin clinic or at home. Only use about a 10% glycolic at first. It will sting a little and then you rinse it off.

Good luck and avoid bad creams.
