@elfootman Yes Cd's where around in the 80's, I remember my grandfather showing us his new CD player in the early 80's, it was expensive & the size of a VHS player & it loaded the disc in the top ,it was hard to believe that music was being played by a shiny disc with a laser. I think it was a pioneer cd player.

@elfootman They hit the market in the early 1980s. My dad got one in 1985. The player cost over a grand and the discs were expensive but it was the most amazing thing I ever saw at the time.
