At the begining - yes, a lot, before I was showed how to do it corectly. After - during 3 months it wasn't pleasure, but nothing too bad either. After 3 months its ok. Now my baby is 7 months and I'm not going to stop :)
@Mshappyclam you obviously wouldn't understand. You are pathetic and immature. Enjoy your life because you seem absolutely miserable. :D have a good day
@Mshappyclam what in the world are u talking about? Who said anything about adopting? Anyways about the breast feeding yes it is selfish if u choose to formula feed. Have u looked at the ingredients which are GMO hidden msg & Aspertame that kills braincells. There is no antibodies in formula no life long benefit and breast milk reduces childhood cancer and illnesses. So I think it is pretty selfish to not withstand a simple week of pain that goes away so fast for your child to have the best
@mshappyclam it doesn't hurt for very long. I was determined to breastfeed for the remarkable benefits. I was definitely willing to go through the pain for my child and not be selfish. It's what breasts were meant to do. I love breastfeeding now it makes us closer.
@ligon15 nothing wrong with being selfish, who wants to be in pain, that is not fun, lots of people think bringing more children into the world is selfish because the world is already overpopulated, adopting a baby is not selfish
My husband use to lol at me till one day he was sitting with out his shirt n I twisted his nipple haha n I told him "n that's nothing comparing to what I feel " lol
agreed. now wen m pregnant and am terribly sick since 3 mnths, he just doesnt understand me completely. and i tel him wait til u get pregnant in your next life. hahaha
I would never let myself suffer like that just to breastfeed an infant when there is formula that serves the exact same purpose. A comfortable mother is a happy mother. A happy mother takes better care of her child. An unhappy mother is prone to fits of rage and depression thereby jeopardizing the well being of her child.
@mshappyclam It may hurts the first time around but it won't last for more than a few weeks. You NEVER gonna have the same relationship with your child if you don't breastfeed!
@dominichsweden that's not true, lots of mother's have great relationships with their children and they never breastfeed, I never heard of a mother hating her baby because she did not breastfeed it, as long as the baby is fed and kept warm they are happy, breastfeeding is not necessary
formula milk doesnt serve the same purpose. nothing can beat mother's milk. but yeah, if it hurts sooooo much, it does make the mother unhappy. but women are given power by God. hope it doesnt happen with you!
@gudume formula serves a better purpose, it alleviates women from the confines of imprisonment also known as breastfeeding; "women are given power by God?" to what? to tolerate pain? Rubbish! What kind of Kool-Aid have you been drinking?
m actually surprised at how people can spring up in anger at such neutral comments. go on arguing if u want to. i am sorry if i told you women are powerful, and if u aren't, i am really wrong to have said that! cheers!
my intention was never to let anyone down. i said wat i felt. of course women who cant medically breastfeed are not to blame. but for those who can, its a beautiful bond, and women should be encouraged for it.
@mshappyclam AND it can poison your child as well. Even the best formula does not provide everything breast milk does. If you really love your child, you breastfeed. End of.
@2hotinaz So all the women who don't (or can't) breastfeed don't LOVE their children? That is just ridiculous! What a narrow minded and ignorant opinion you have!
Honey, if you have seen your doctor or have had the help of a lactation nurse to help with this and it still is painful, then it is okay to switch to the bottle. Yes, I know I will get many negative comments for this but some women, and I was one of them, had so many problems nursing. I had the confidence to know that it wasn't working for my daughter and I, so we switched to the bottle. My guilt level was ZERO! She is 23 now and we are so so close.
omg i remember those days!! it hurt soooo much at first but then i got used to it and I loved it. its a great bonding time with your child and I miSS it now!!
kamalaram, I have read many books I am a certified LC and help mother's with position and latch so it does not hurt. It is important to nurse within the first 30 minutes after birth and not give the baby any bottles or pacifiers to protect the milk supply.

Mamaryun, better read the books about that and have an idea of how woman are able to handle this.
Such a simple thing can be handled without a lactation counselor
kamalaram 2 years ago
It shouldn't hurt! Maybe she needs a lactation counselor to help her position better.
