I watched an interview and seen the words cme out of Rand Paul's mouth saying BP should nto be FORCED to pay for the oil damage and we need to accept the reality that accidents happen. If we trust big business to pay for the damage done, how can we trust them to prevent these accidents? Accidents are preventable, accidents do kill people. Self government is possible, but I don't see big business able to do that now yet Alex seems to be supporting this.

Its a shame about Rand's slip of the tongue. I attended Law School... he was just making an academic footnote to the 1964 Civil Rights Act. AND... He was correct based upon the Constitution and Old English Common Law. The CRA stripped the Rights of a "Shopkeeper" from refusing service to whomever they chose. That was OLD settled Law when the CRA was enacted. That old legal doctrine was lost in the CRA shuffle.

@urwhatthewho From your statement, I can see that you don't know the Law. Even today, a Shopkeeper LEGALLY can STILL refuse service to ANYONE. He just can't base his decision on Race, Sex, Ethnicity, etc. But he can base it upon other requirements NOT covered by the CRA... "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service!" ... is rather common. If you've shoplifted at a store, they can ban you permanently.. and legally.
