Basically, just think of it like a Proxy for your internet connection. Thats what it means.

lol, Husky, calling it a "proxy" isn't short for "proximity," it's an actual term meaning a secondary representation. Something that acts for you. In this case, a building that creates units for you away from your base. It's a proxy. :)

@joeratti it does make sense. The term proxy refers to what he said, a "relay" base away from your main. If you have a lavalamp connected to the wall socket near your computer, thats a lava lamp. If you have a lavalamp connected to that same wall socket but through an extension cord, its a proxy lavalamp =D

PDD does not stop marine shots, because they are "hitscan", ie. they don't actually fire projectiles. They just instantly harm their target every x seconds. Marauders, vikings, banshees etc however shoot projectiles that you can see fly around, and those will be shot down. Each PDD has enough energy to shoot down 20 projectiles. Focusing PDDs with marines could be worth it

It's weird how much I enjoy these videos, when I know I'll never play a single game of Starfcraft online. I'll buy the game the day it's released and play though the single player mode once, then won't play it again until the next expansion. I just don't enjoy PvP RTS, but to sit and watch them for 30 minutes or so is great.

@iKhicken point defense drone dost just that. It's a point defense. It shoots down incoming ranged attacks, using up energy in the process. I believe each PD can absorb about 10-20 individual shots ( 10 stalker attacks for example since each has two shots per attack) The PD also regens energy so if you don't kill it, it can continue to cause you problems.

@idiallin Actually... even though they'll be reset back into the lower leagues once the actual game comes out... they won't stay into the noob leagues much longer since they'll be paired up to play with higher level players.. that's what the copper platinum, etc leagues are for in SC2.. to separate the noobs, the average, and the pros.

@GretzkyTheWonderDog Carriers? Are you playing unlimited money maps or normal maps? If normal, if he is investing so passively he's investing a lot of money and time in tech and static defense, you can just take map control and expand expand (build more bases than him). You will have a massive advantage in income, and after that just outmacro him. Countering DT is easy, just keep detectors around (observers/overlords/turrets).

@coos678 top left corner, the unit count is the population number. like if he says 16 that means 16/X. X=number of population supply you have at the time.

@coos678 He means the supply count. Before any fighting units are built, this is basically the number of worker units. Since high-level players never(?) forget to build one worker after the other in the early game, it's actually a measure of time. Building orders in the early game are described with the help of these early supply numbers, before their become a measure for the size of the armies in the mid-game.
