Do many people walk the bridge when it snows? I plan on visiting in the winter. Just don't want to be the only one on the bridge in cold weather.

@adarkershadeofbrown During the day you always have people walking across the bridge. Maybe not during a blizzard. It gets colder up there when it's windy since there's no protection. If you check my video from week 75: even after 700 people had been arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge during OWS and it had rained for hours, there are still others on the bridge. Take a hot chocolate from Jacques Torres in Dumbo (Week 89) with you! ;-)

That was fun !! I'd love to walk this one day...have walked our Golden Gate Bridge many times.

At least I once got to admire the Brooklyn Bridge from a vantage point while sitting and taking it all in.

@GNYBerlin In case you weren't aware of it: our Bay Bridge that connects Oakland/The East Bay with San Francisco is undergoing major renovations and will finally include a huge section that will become walking and bicycling accessible. Should be done within 5 years and I look forward to walking that for the very first time - it's bound to have breathtaking views.

GNYBerlin Yes bikes can be ridden across the Golden Gate. Bikes and pedestrians use the east side on weekdays, and then bikes only the west side on weekends. It is closed to pedestrians at night to help prevent jumpers. Bikes have 24hr access, having to buzz through a monitored electric gate at night. The schedules can vary due to bridge maintenance and seismic retrofitting (We have earthquakes here). I checked and there are some Golden Gate bike videos.

But I guess the Brooklyn Bridge can be intimidating as well when you look up from below. Fascinating about the electric gates! Will check out GG bike videos for sure.

I also like this version better than the "high quality" one. I was just describing the process how I ended up with this more "artsy" stop-motion effect. It was accidental and based on frustration when I first looked at the footage, but I do like how it came out.

I honestly think Bk bridge is the worst for bikers. Nice video though.

You should make one of you riding across the Williamsburg bridge (sunrise would be nice, photographically). If you skateboard/longboard you should make one of that as well. Just a thought. Happy riding. :)

But have some fond memories of crossing to go home to Williamsburg in a cab and getting cursed out by the driver because he had to drive to Brooklyn. Things were a little different 10 years ago. I don't skateboard so a bike will have to do. Fortunately sunrise is late in winter ;-]

My secret tip: Prospect Park fireworks. You can stand almost exactly below them and let the lights fall towards you...

Thank you! Yeah, it's a little bit like playing Frogger - if you are a pedestrian walking into the bike lane. Be careful when you walk - or bike across.

The bike ride took me about 9 minutes each way. It has a bit of a steep incline. Walking probably takes anywhere between 30 - 60 minutes. Depends on how often you stop and go "Ahhh, I just love NYC!".
