  • did I hear the Wilhelm Scream at 2:02??

  • Stay low?!

  • HALF-MAN! HALF-MAN! HALF-MAN!

  • Does anyone know where Tyrion gets all his money? Tywin hates him, so it doesn't seem like he would hand Tyrion an allowance all the time...

  • @fl333r It is Tywin, he hates Tyrion but since Tyrion really doesn't do anything harmful except make it clear he loves whores Tywin can't cut him off without it affecting the Lannister reputation. Doing nasty stuff to your own family without sufficient cause is lowed down upon by the Nobility.

  • @ShadowSonic2 Makes sense... :/ Thanks! After all, a little money isn't a big thing for Tywin :)

Imagine the gifts he'd dole out in the red envelopes for Chinese New Year! XD

  • he pass by the same arrow in the ground twice

  • thumbs up if you liked the ridley scott floating on the ground trick....

  • LOL ! 2:06 he swinged with his axe to the ground, not to his head. Fail

  • Two and a Tyrion! XD sorry abaout it...

  • HALFMAN! HALFMAN! HALFMAN! HALFMAN! HALFMAN! HALFMAN!

  • I loved this. The only thing I disliked about the books was how Tyrion battled unrealistically well (even if you account for his expensive armour). And its a brilliant way to keep the budget low and focus on what is truly important, not the battles (they skipped 2 just in this scene) but the preparations at the twins and the aftermath. The battles where fixed from the start (like most battles in the book... and real life) and would have been unintresting to watch anyway.

  • poor Stark bannermen

it's just a death montage of them in season 1 it seems.

it would've been nice if the Green Fork wasn't just a massacre.

  • 2:03 First time I've heard a Wilhelm Scream cut short

  • @Erufailon42 I always get so excited when I hear the Wilhelm Scream lol, it never gets old for me!!

  • Tyrion has the One Ring to Rule them All!

  • I'm really waiting for the battle of Blackwater. GRRM himself said they are spending huge amounts of money for it and have an expert of some sorts directing it.. and maybe this time Tyrion gets to use his axe? :D

  • "Stay low"

    O rly?

  • AND PAINTED DOGS!

  • @BatemanDaPsycho Putrid Dogs

  • You're a shit warrior!

  • lol tyrion mentions he wouldnt want to fall asleep through the battle and miss it in the previous scene, which he does infact end up doing

  • HALFMAN! HALFMAN! HALFMAN! HALFMAN! HALFMAN! HALFMAN! HALFMAN! HALFMAN!

  • WITH HIS OTHER EIGHTEEN THOUSAND!

  • The Imp : I used to be a warrior like you but I took a hammer in my face

  • I think it kind of works that they didn't show the battle. By merely showing the end results, it's left to our imaginations to decide what happened. Besides, if they really did do some sort of epic Return of the King scale battle, they'd run out of money. Same reason they didn't bring a hundred horsemen during Robert's hunt, especially since him, Renly and Barristan were the only characters in that scene who mattered.

  • @ornjoos an lancel

  • @equityx More wine your grace?

  • HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!! HALF-MAN!!

  • Tywin's armor appears to be a mixture of European and samurai influences. Cool.

  • Too bad we didn't actually see him fight in the tv series.

I hope they portray Tyrion better when fighting at the battle at Blackwater. I would love to see him in action.

  • and painted dogs xD

  • HALF-MAN!!!!

  • Tywin: "With his other 18,000 men."

    Tyrion: "Shit."

  • Comment removed

  • Bronn: "yeah"

Tyrion: "it is good to see them getting along"

hahahah!! that part always crack me!! lol!!

  • Just wait for Battle of the Blackwater to see Tyrion's another great fight... ;-D

  • HALF MAN!!!

  • HALF MAN!!!

  • WILHELM SCREAM AT 2:04!!

  • bah, he should have at least been hit by an ENEMY hammer...

  • 2:03 - Wilhelm scream!

  • @LittleRata1 they do battle the wounded.

  • Yeah... didnt like what they did in sires with this scine, would be good to see Tyron after battle with his captive knight instead.

  • I would shit my pants whe a guy like shagga charging me and scream: I GONNA FEED YOUR MANHOOD TO THE GOATS!!!!!:And le last thing i see are his fucking awsemome axes

  • In the book he manages to headbutt a horse to death. Obviously they didn't have the budget for a real battle scene. Makes me worry for the Battle of the Blackwater in season 2's finale.

  • @Idonthaveanamelol THat would've been lame. And I think it was the bes chouice to not have long dull big war scenes. Leaving it for the imagination. It would take too long to make it interesting and would make imbalance in the plot progression.

  • @SaerdnaOoOoo

at least...10-20 seconds of battle would be nice :/

  • @LittleRata1 Yeah. 30 seconds tops.

  • @SaerdnaOoOoo Showing the capture of the Kingslayer would have been awesome though.

  • @Idonthaveanamelol

Indeed it was because of budget, but they had a decent budget to make the first season look fairly good... and believe me, after the Season 1 boxset on DVD and Bluray comes for sale, they will have a quite nice budget to fund Season's 2 battle scenes ;)

  • Tyrion's strength has always been his mind, not his body. And let's be honest, the show could use more humor. Someone getting knocked unconscious and trampled is about as close they get to a laugh (save for Tyrion's eel-milking confession). So let's not bitch about the lack of characteristically-unrealistic inspiringly heroic battle montages.

  • @AWickedMind My favorite lines are always Bronn's. "Give me ten men and a ladder and i'll impregnate the bitch" haha

  • @AWickedMind I totally agree with you, but i still hope they don't do this with the Kings Landing battle.

  • @AWickedMind I'm just curious how they are going to rework his part in the battle of blackwater.

  • i love how tyrion summons the tribesmen like hes a general or something lol

  • "DID WE WIN?" "IF WE DIDN'T, WE WOULDN'T BE HAVING THIS CONVERSATION"

  • you're a shit warrior!

  • willhelm scream fuckyeah

  • I'm actually kind of glad HBO changed it, since Tyrion always seemed like an impossibly good warrior whenever there was a battle (especially considering he has little to no prior experience at the start of Book 1). The TV series seems to pin his character down better for me: it shows his cunning when he uses the shield as a weapon during the journey to the Vale, and it shows his courage when he runs into the battle with his small army. It doesn't make him out to be some great warrior he's not.

  • Stay low! Lol, Bronn's advice to Tyrion is more like a personal joke.

  • The reason they changed this scene wasn't because they wanted to show Tyrion as a coward, but because their budget wouldn't allow them showing a huge battle. Blame economics, not change of opinion.

I hope they rectify this. There are some huge battles coming up in season 2 and season 3.

  • esse anãozinho é foda!!!!!! me mata de tanto rir!!!!! xD

  • lol he sounds like when they get angry on southpark 0:31

  • I guess they figured in would be too difficult to choreograph. I liked the scene in the book since it showed how Tyrion took the time to train with Lannister weapon masters when he was younger even though he is a dwarf and it makes him look even more badass.

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 wasn't a worry about doing the battle scene just couldn't afford it 2nd series has much better budget though

  • This was my fav scene in season 1... 1:05 ahahaha You're a shit warrior!

  • 0:49 LOL!

  • wilhelm 2:03

  • Watch the show and buy the DVDs. That will give the show a bigger budget and we can see some bigger battles in the coming seasons. Crying on youtube isn't going to do anything.

  • 2:12 brons reaction whne tyrion asks how the tribesmen did :D

  • I have a question, will robb stark die?

  • @Biiscox If you don't care about spoilers, then...

    *SPOILERS*

...yes, in the third book. Quite dramatically, too. And the seed of it has already been shown in the first season.

  • @Celedam ah yes so unfortunate, feels like the whole stark house is falling apart

  • They better not ruin Tyrion's part in the climax of Clash of Kings...

  • You really think they had the budget to have a massive battle scene as big as this one?

  • In the book, he commanded half a flank, chopped off heads with an axe and captured a knight. In the end, when he met with his father, it turned out he had performed better than expected.

And later on, he fights more battles and chopps off more heads.

  • HALFMAN!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this scene.

  • it's funny like they shout at him "PAINTED DOGS" , like we count too bitch!!!

  • In the book story, Tyrion has fought this combat bravely... not like a coward which is showing in the HBO serie.

I'm reading the books.... and there are a lot of things severaly changed.

  • @mauriciomgvieira well not like a coward but like a very unlucky guy , he was up to the task anyhow. But yes it would have been awesome to see him capture the knight he captures in the books :D

  • @mauriciomgvieira There aren't alot of things changed, some scenes are cut down, one chapter in the book could equal three scenes in the TV series but one scene explains the point well enough.

Nearly all of the chapters are in the show, the only thing they added was singular scenes of non POV characters such as Kingslayer, Varys, Littlefinger, the king.

  • @mauriciomgvieira Seriously, I just got to this part in the book yesterday, and now I feel bad they took out all the badass parts...

  • @mauriciomgvieira hmm....he was kinda lucky in that battle tho XD,

  • @mauriciomgvieira not really a coward, he actually was gonna go to fight, just that he got knocked out, although yes, his fights are way more badass in the books, but they had to do many budget cuts and also because it would cover a lot of time that they decided to use for the scene with him, bronn and shae, wich developed the characters more

  • @mauriciomgvieira

They have done a good job, but this was one scene cut that really pissed me off. I loved this scene in the book.

  • @mauriciomgvieira o yeah, im only up to page 120 and so many things are skewed :/

though im guessing since they ran out of money they couldn't afford to scene the battle, so they just had him knocked out :P.

  • @mauriciomgvieira

    so what?

  • @mauriciomgvieira The series stays more true to the original story then any other series I've ever watched though, it's not that bad.

  • @mauriciomgvieira well the budget for the 2nd series is alot bigger so expect to actually get to see some of the battles :)

  • @kreeperrock yea but G.RR M said himself in his twitter that the blackwater bay battle isn't going to be as grande as it was describe in the book. So probably expect more of seeing Davos's facial expressions as the battle unfolds lol.

It's fine though, the story is what really drives the show anyway not the battles.

  • @mauriciomgvieira

In the long run, it might be for the best.

    SPOILER:

This means when Tyrion leads the charge at the Blackwater, it will be that much more cooler.

"You won't hear me shout out Joffrey's name. You won't hear me yell for Casterly Rock either. This is your city Stannis means to sack, and that's your gate he's bringing down. So come with me and kill the son of a bitch!!"

  • @mauriciomgvieira He intended to fight.. It's not like he hid in his tent. He was knocked out. It really doesn't matter that he battled or not, his intention was to fight. I didn't see him as a coward after this scene.

  • @mauriciomgvieira I hear that for the most part they remained very faithful to the books compared to other book based shows/movies... *cough*legendoftheseeker*cough*...

  • @mauriciomgvieira The tv series adds more humor and eye candy.

  • @mauriciomgvieira He said that he was changing things to try and improve it. Things that he wished hed written differently hes fixing. To be honest I think it works well. Both the book and the series have things that are positive and negative about them but over all both work well for their medium.

  • @mauriciomgvieira

They didn't have enough money to do a proper fight scene, so they changed it to this instead =) They made a lot of changes that they didn't want to make, but had to do because of resources available.

  • @mauriciomgvieira Aye. I do hope they show him fighting on the Battle of Blackwater.

  • @mauriciomgvieira sometimes they change things early to affect things later which will be good changes.. even tho he came off like a coward in this scene, it might affect something that happens later in a way that pleases fans. its too early to tell. but regardless, what is the problem anyway? the tv show doesnt have to be word-for-word with the books... why do you want to see the same exact story played out? this is the director's vision. like LOTR in a way

  • @mauriciomgvieira yeah, im reading the books too, but i think its for the better. we all know that tryion is no fighter. He hasnt even used a sword in the whole first season and he is one of my favourtite characters. he doesnt need to fight, he just needs to be Tryion

  • @xXMassGamingXx He's more the axe and crossbow type;)

  • @mauriciomgvieira What adaptions don't *severely* change from the source material? Tyrion is an imp who uses words instead of swords, he said that himself. George R.R. Martin practically defiled his own character using him in the battle and going against what his character really is. You can't take these changes seriously.

  • @mauriciomgvieira He never got to fight, so how did he fight a coward? I have read the books, the changes that where made arnt that big. This scene was the only real disapointment, and they had to throw Stannis in season 1 to make it easier to understand.

  • @mauriciomgvieira How does getting knocked in the head and losing consciousness cowardly. I also read the books but this was amusing.

  • @mauriciomgvieira like a coward? he got hit in the head and passed out.

  • @mauriciomgvieira I actually expected them to have made more changes than they did. If you compare this series to other series that are based on books the Game of Thrones series is remarkably close to the books

  • the best war speach i ever heard

  • Tyrion's meat is bloody tough

  • 2:03 Wilhelm Scream!

  • i thoguht they said patriot dogs

  • and painted dogs:D

  • @peallys :D nice scene

  • @ArthasMenethilPure the directors address this in the extra scenes on HBO Go. They wanted to do a scene where Tyrion is fighting behind the Mountain during the battle. I believe they either didn't have the time or resources to do the scene.

  • @peallys I cracked up laughing at that part!

  • @peallys PAINTED DOGS!
