I think there is a reason that there hasn't been any biography movie on her life. Perhaps a reason is because they don't see anyone who could play her and play her well. I honestly don't see it happening, especially not with the people named. But, we shall see.

The song was entitled "Be One." It was composed by Bill Lee, Spike Lee's father. Phyllis appeared briefly after an uptempo number that I confess I did not pay much attention to. "Be One" is available on an import CD entitled "Phyllis Hyman - In Between the Heartaches~The Soul of a Diva." A little hard to find now, but well worth the search.

I love this movie... but the funny thing is I didn't know it was Phyllis Hyman singing "Be one", meaning that I didn't know her as a artist and then I found out that I have always listened to her work. I just didn't know it.
