You're right, many covers are crap but I like the version of 'Ruby Tuesday' by Melanie, 'Let's Spend The Night Together' by David Bowie (and also his version of 'Penny Lane') and 'Out Of Time' by Chris Farlowe. Not that I don't like the original Rolling Stones versions. I prefer Roxy Music's version of 'Jealous Guy' to John Lennon's. And lastly, 'Delilah' by the Alex Harvey Band was better than Tom Jones's.

Nearly forgot, 'This Flight Tonight' by Nazareth, better than Joni Mitchell's.
