hi mia0032, I assume you are not japanese and have 0 knowledge about japanese family law/divorce process. Core issue is the foreigner parent will Definitely NOT have custody and WILL NOT have permanent access to the kids in the rest of life.... while in US law, the wife will have kdis and hubby has to support all and in turn at least kids can see him and he can see kids. In this case, she got 80k free cash and took kids running away.
When Noriko got to the US, instead of getting a WELCOME HOME MOM card, Chris served her with divorce papers (us) and trapped her here. By US law she couldn't leave. He made her live alone, in a foreign country. All when she thought they were getting back together.
The children could barley speak English, the didnt' want to be here.Noriko was in fearful of Chris
Amye was Chris's highscholl sweetheart.. wonder how long that had been going on?
You can't compare this at all to the O.J. Simpson story. The obvious difference is that Simpson thinks he is above the law. Had he pursued legal action, he probably could have reclaimed his property. Savoie did everything right! He won custody in a Tennessee court, but his ex-wife kidnapped the children from him. Now that she's in Japan, the courts there recognize her as the legal guardian. The law is messed up. While I don't condone vigilante justice, what other options did Savoie have?
You got this wrong. Both Noriko and CS had joint custody. CS and the home wrecker, Amy, kept harrasing Noriko and the children mentally,. This what drove her to fled to Japan. The court granted CS sole custody ONLY after Noriko in Japan.
To be fair, Savoie doesn't sound like the solid citizen CNN has been playing him up to be. But at the same time, it's terrible that he'll never be able to see his kids again. At least this opens the public's eyes to how terrible this Japanese law is.
"Nakoki?" Who the hell is that?

DO you know this?If yes, tell me what would you do if you were Chris?
No matter who you are, the thing should be cursed is Japanese family law, a biased system, one old enough back to 17th century.
If you dont know.. see here how foreigners were discriminated in the divorce with jap.

Noriko lived in Japan her whole life with her kids. Last year was the first time the kids ever came to the US.
Chris & Noriko separated more than 3 years ago. Noriko wanted a Japanese divorce. Chris REFUSED
Chris told her to come to the US in 2008 to work on there marriage. Noriko agreed. They planned to live TN together as a family.
