1) Many/most conservatives didn't make a big fuss about Bush's government taking from everyone's pockets to fund stuff that we shouldn't have been funding in the first place and that most people came to oppose.
2) They're paying less in taxes now than they did under Bush. Taxes dropped for 98% of the population.
3) They keep proposing tax policies that have only benefited the top 5%.

The free state project is actually pretty sweet. If I weren't in college right now and didn't have a gf I'm planning to move in with in NC, I'd totally do it once I saved up enough money. NH sounds like a pretty sweet free place. Sure, there are no big cities there, but the biggest city IS something like 105,000 residents, so that's still a lot to do.

Funny how she doesn't show GOPRIDE at CPAC, the conservative gay organization that was widely represented at the conference along with the vast majority of libertarian groups that support equl marriage laws for all. There are always going to be crazy people out there, but conservatives and libertarians just want limited government, why is that so hard for liberal america to comprehend? We have tried limiting governement in the past and it does not work for the masses as well as it does for the minority! Do you want another French or Russian Revolution on your hands where the masses struggled to survive and then finally turned on the super rich! As the person who actually wrote most of the text on the FSP bookmark, I am honored to have it presented on national basic cable television not once, but twice! The original headline I had was Relocate for Liberty, but I wanted something that would grab people's attention, and 4 years after the first ones were printed, they're still doing their job. Anyone advocating for a violent revolution will be summarily booted from the FSP. Not every revolution is violent.

This is some hardcore disinfo about some of these groups that Rachel (if she did her research) might actually like. Today the YAL people defended gay rights and the pressence of GOProud, a homosexual conservative group to the boos and chagrin of many a neocon. She didn't even read any of the materials like the Free State bookmark (they don't want a war!). I would have been happy to see Rachel had I gone but this wasn't good journalism in the slightest.

I'll avoid the easy "separation of church and state" ACLU-type issues here, but those folks (like Gary North, who, oddly enough, is also an ally of the Austrian economics movement, which tends to be comprised of libertarians) have stated openly that they basically want ALL law in this country based on the Bible. The Founders were, of course, deists, who shunned all that emphasis on supernatural bullcrap in the church or congregation. Yes, they were religious to a fault, but they emphasized the MORALS and teachings of Christianity, NOT whether someone's going to hell or not or witches or exorcisms or whatever.

I have nothing wrong with constitutionalism, but you can't pick and choose what bills or times you're gonna reference it and then ignore it and not bring up in other times. Ron Paul is one of the few truly consistent Republicans on this issue. The others just bring it up when it's politically convenient. When the president wants the power to do ANYTHING he wants in the name of security, where is the GOP?

The free state project is actually pretty sweet. If I weren't in college right now and didn't have a gf I'm planning to move in with in NC, I'd totally do it once I saved up enough money. NH sounds like a pretty sweet free place. Sure, there are no big cities there, but the biggest city IS something like 105,000 residents, so that's still a lot to do.
