The first song I ever heard from TD was Scrap Yard from the movie "Thief" and it's still my favorite. This is 2nd. Sounds like a vinyl version; is that a little pop and hiss I hear?

It doesn't take anything away from the music.

Nice visuals to a great old tune. Pity it seems like there's no music like this these days. It's like when Chris Franke left TD, very little quality electronic music was produced anymore by anyone.

No, the music is from Thief starring James Caan. The scene is great in that movie! TD used to rule the movie soundtracks!

I agree. Its a little like Echos on Floyd's Meddle. Check out the whole cd of the soundtrack from Thief. They also did the soundtrack for Risky Business, the Tom Cruise film, although Toms a wanker.

I thought the long version is called Beach Scene and the shorter Beach Theme? In which case the label in the beginning of the video is incorrect? Anyway nice vid and needless the music is great. A life-long TD fan

Interesting fact. Mann wanted Tangerine Dream to score his then new television show: Miami Vice. However Tangerine Dream had already commited to Streethawk so the job of scoring Miami Vice went to Jan Hammer. A loss that Edgar Froese has accepted.

I think this is roughly the same post as Deslizadora123 but any way: This was from the film "Thief".Released in 1981 it starred James Caan and was the first major film by Michael Mann who went onto make "Heat" "Collateral" "Manhunter" etc. I saw it on its release and it introduced me to TD and Michael Mann and I've been a fan ever since.
