  • im 100% irish and born in canada north americia was build on the backs of the irish as they got off the ships hungry they were givin guns and told to fight for their country a country that did nothing for them thats ok they didnt wine and cry like the blacks and the natives they did something about it if u notice after that most of our leaders in the usa and canada were the product of that great migration ERIN GO BRAGH

  • @murchadha1 Born in canada... your canadian.

  • @PappaRykov Well, we could say he´s a canadian born Irishman. It´s how you feel inside that makes you belong to a place, even if you were born elsewhere.

  • @PappaRykov Shut up, fag

  • @PappaRykov so...canadians came from europe. hence he would be irish. candian by birth, irish by pride and ancestry

  • @murchadha1 Although I mostly agree with what you say, you gotta be P.C about it if you want anyone to take your opinion seriously

  • @murchadha1 you seen gangs of new york way to many times

  • I would be Irish =) unfortunately I'm not...

But in one day I want to live in this nice country =)

  • I but this pic of the irish bragade because ite led by Thomas Francis Meagher. An Irish patriot who brought the tri color (irish flag to ireland).

  • half german half irish n fekking proud of it!

  • Perfect song! Best greetings from Bavaria! Celtics 4ever!

  • Irish heart !

  • Fantastic lyrics. Thank you.

  • @ 1:28- 'Merica. fuck yeah.

    srsly, America+Ireland= greatest army ever.

  • @MattBOrange listen to the song the St Patricks Battalion and say that again they fought for the Mexican side listen to the song and find out why

  • @celticforums got to say one of my favourite songs, Films good too. Did ya also know there's great celebrations on st patricks day honouring the san patricio too.

  • @celticforums confused enough as to why they would be fighting an american war, but what the hell do they have in common with mexico? especcially considering that so many irish immigrated to the USA. but if they DID, then why is the Irish flag beside the American one in a charge?

  • @MattBOrange the irish fought on both sides of the civil war in the usa

  • @stacsery i know that, the guy i was replying to said that the irish fought on the mexican side during the war between texas and mexico. i think thats bullshit, personally, but i dont know for sure.

neither of you has explained how they got an irish flag or why a us general allowed the flag to be flown beside the american flag. i mean, no disrespect or anything, i would'nt fly the american flag in an irish war...

  • @MattBOrange st Patrick's battalion was formed during the american-Mexican war before the american civil war. This battalion was made up of mostly catholic Irish soldiers but also had German and other European men in its ranks who had defected from the American army to fight with the Mexicans. It is believed that this was caused by the Americans army's treatment towards Catholic church's and Catholic people during the war. In the American civil war Irish regiments were formed on both sides

  • @MattBOrange the irish fought with such bravery and would not relinquish there flag so the us said fuck it and let them fly there flag with theres also the usa belived it gave them more marale

  • hay guys, I am a Libyan from Benghazi. I would like to know about the image of the bow musical instrment in the Irish tradtion, what does it mean? thanks

  • My daughter and I stayed this summer in Dublin, and never forget what we were welcomed by the Irish people ... This kindness and joy... is in the blood? .. or maybe it's the Guinness???

Anyway we were very happy there, and the Irish people are the most kind and friendly in the world!!!...I hope that the rest of the world learn to be like them!

    Great Irland!!

    Visca Catalunya!!

  • Drinkin' in America for my brothers in Ireland! Long live the Irishman!

  • Sons of Anarchy

  • Im American and you Irish men are the only people from the islands i like! :)

  • You should have kept the Cross of St.Patrick! Your Flag now looks like a French or Italian Wannabe Flags. :(

  • @holmesbinton it was meant to be based on the french revolution flag

  • @Ryanjoe090, Well, At Least Put a Damn Clover on the Flag! I have a Question, Why did Ireland Break from the United Kingdom? :/

  • @holmesbinton 700 years of abuse and murder. population was 8 million but was cut down by 4 million. i think its 5 million today

  • @Ryanjoe090, Are you saying that Britain Has 'NO' Justice? Is there a Reason for what they did? And 700 Years of Murder and Abuse? If that is True, How Come Ireland Became Part of the United Kingdom in 1801? That was Only about 200 years ago! Please Answer. :)

  • @holmesbinton the history behind the flag is complicated. i suggest you read up on it.

  • @yesssnesss, Sigh, I guess I'm gonna have to. :/

  • greetins from germany ! i think the british ones should get off your land cuz ireland is ireland not half to half germany is ones after a few years i think ireland will ones a few years too good luck ;) the irish population must make more so beautiful songs like this and the dubliners made :)

  • The occupation of Ireland is a arcane reminant of a time long past like slavery and torture. They gave back Hong Kong, thier holdings in Africa, Asia, most of South America and the carribian. Why not Ireland?

  • Thumbs suas má tá do gaeilge!

(If your truly Irish, you'll understand)

  • @conectmaster Where to start? i'll try anyway, " the town i love so well", "foggy dew"," fields of athenry", "wish i was back home in derry", "song for ireland"," joe mcdonnell", hills of donegal", "only our rivers run free", "kevin barry". These are a few love songs - "black is the colour","spancill hill","galway girl","star of county Down". This will at least get you started, there are so many other great songs. Enjoy listening to them, I hope thats not too much for you.

  • Too short...

  • I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song because it says about being a true irish man and not being from there

I wish I was from there but I am not, but I will tu everything I can to make sure future sons or daughters are from IRELAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whats everyone's problem with the British? the past is the past let it go shit

  • @SuperShaun1992 I don´t like the english history of occupant in Ireland,my father and grandfather is a real irishman.Cead mile Failte and Slán go foil

  • @lisamorisot But it was ok for everyone to come here during the famine? Like my family for example.

  • @SuperShaun1992 and they were treated like shit when they came over, also during the famine their was boatloads of wheat and barley leaving ireland everyday for england. we would not have had a famine if it were not for the british taking our land and agriculture.. and another point irish people do have a certain right to live in britain considering they were in our country for 800 years

  • @brinoc327 Fair enough but like I said my family were treated fine and were happy, and Britain and Ireland are fine now don't forget who bailed the Irish out with the Euro, it was your choice to go into the euro in the first place so you cant really still be angry with the British after all there are more problems in the World

  • @SuperShaun1992 if they came over during the famine i can assure you they wernt treated fine and your right to a degree im not angry with britain just i'll never forgot my history and about the bailout you'l get your money back plus interest

  • Go raigh maigh agat for the good stuff, f...... the english bastards.

    Slán agus batha .

    Lisa

  • The proudest, freest and most honorable people and the most independent nation surrounded by monarchistic slaves. Long live the Republic of Ireland, long live the Irish people! Greetings from Germany!

  • @DDoonniiXX hi

  • @kingchriz199

    hi mate

explain something to me. what does DDoonniiXX's comment have to do with the fact that Germans should learn about other cultures, stay german and stop speaking "Denglish" (German-English, I get it). And what please do you mean with your second comment in "English". because honestly, all I managed to understand was the greetings part and the fact that it's a good song. the rest was neither english, nor german, nor french, nor italian, nor any other language.

  • @DDoonniiXX I agree with you, I think where the irish really shine through is their remarkable wit.

A quick comical retort is valued above anything else, a prime example is seen

    here >> youreport.newstalk.ie/story/488

  • @DDoonniiXX i agree greetings from america comrades!

  • Like just for the Hell of it =P

  • I'm so proud to be ME!

  • like if you think brits are the people who disliked this song
