i have a question. See I have something called...standards you know. I expected GOOD things out of a game. And what if we don't want to play this game as some shitty Dante Wannabe with an emo pissy ant hissy fit attitude that brings nothing new to the series? No it's not. At least I didn't think so. A watered down version of it's predecessor is not what I call AWESOME. I guess with adding a new main character, they took away the fun factor.

the only devil may cry i played was part two, i didnt like it, i thought the story was week especialy the ending, but i have heard that it was one of the worst out of the series, what do you guys think, and should i try part 4

If you want a generic save the princess story line a boring version of it's predecessor and a horrific main character that's pretty much considered the Edward Cullen of the series, then by all means pick it up.

I also suggest other series like Twilight and New Moon. They're about as contrived and their characters are about bland as Devil May Cry 4's. Hell I think even something as crappy as Twilight is written better than this DMC 4 shit. They are about Mary Sue as any other story line.

The problem with this is that you don't play as the whole game as Dante. You only play seven stages. Kobayashi pretty much shafted his fans in terms of that. And The gameplay for Nero is extremely limited to just throwing your enemies around and using the snatch abilities. This is hardly a note worthy title for a next gen console. Nero is a crass and unimaginative and unoriginal character with no huge difference in terms of character and for the most part is a third rate Dante wannabe.

The Time line for Dmc is actually 3 , 4, 1, 2

Also DMC3 is a difficult game but not as hard as everyone makes it seem.

Its a game of reflexes. Without learning how dante moves and strikes exactly with every move he has you wont get very far.

Thats what was so cool about it is that you sucked when you first started playing it and once you got farther Your reflexes increase dramatically and the game and battles get that much more intense and fun.

The timeline is 3, 1, 4, 2. If 4 was before 1 then it wouldn't really make sense because Dante met Trish in 1.

Its probably my favourite game for the new generation consoles.

DMC3 is easily the best game in the series, I would say DMC1 is second best, then DMC4 and lastly DMC2 which we all know was just awful. Hopefully the next DMC game is more like DMC3, with more enemy variety and actually challenging bosses, and I hope they throw away Nero or maybe include him as an easy option for the newbies.

I have both version and I prefer the original release of DMC 3 since it wasn't easy. I have beaten every mode and found it to be a great game. Nowhere near impossible. If a game is too hard then that is not the games fault nor is it the creaters, it's just the way it is. The re-release was so easy that I finished it in half the time it took me to finish the first DMC. alot of people find it hard and that is your opinion but dont say its impossible because I have done it!!!!!

The game looks good, the story is great, but it's not innovative, it's not new, just another game in the series. Maybe a must have for fans, but challenging maybe to get new fans.
