Great as always! You are one of my few subscriptions I search out videos for and see what you've been up to. Thanks for the great and varied videos. Keep it up!
nice job Dave i remember that exact model as a kid, as i was a plastic modeler before progressing into Rc models thanks for the nostalgia makes me think back when i was a kid
Great work Dave, brings back memories of as a kid did one similar but was a Chevy 350 motor from a corvette and was great to build, and had a couple of missing metal push rods but my Dad machined up some on the lathe for me so was good to go
I put one of these together as a kid (I'm now 44)and it helped me understand the operation of valve train, ignition systems and timing. That was not an easy model to assemble especially as a kid but I sure learned alot. Thanks for sharing Dave.
Hay Dave, Dad and I built a radial aircraft engine just like your car engine some 30 years ago. Still have it, Good video. Wonder if you can still find stuff like this to built ? Tom
I had one of these. I found it to be poor quality mouldings and mating parts/surfaces to be rather innacurate. However, it was a great kit idea and really cool for the time.
Dave, I haven't seen one of those models like in forever, brings me back when i took a engin tune up class at my local Jr College, damn almost 30 yrs ago
@Elios0000 Your right. Being a purist, I used the glue that came with it 34 years ago, but for sure I would have liked to have used the CA too. Thanks for your comment.
I wouldn't use CA on clear styrene. it will bloom (cloud the plastic surface) and it's just not as strong as styrene cement.
I do like the modern thinner Testors red in the triangular bottle. It's still very slow to fully cure, but it won't cloud the plastic and the resulting joints are by far the strongest of any of the glues. Much stronger than the water thin Weld-Ons, Bondede or Tamiya glue.
@Jaryd107 Thanks much. Yep back 34 years ago, they didn't have computers to figure out these designs, but it is pretty good and I'm sure today's are better, but with no motors or lights, which I think adds to the flavor. Glad you liked it.
I built the same one for my 4th grade science fair...although I couldn't get the spark plugs working and my starter skipped every other gear! Lol. I was pretty young and wasn't the best modeler at that age but I remember it like it was yesterday! Thanks for sharing Dave!

You have a rare "black out" Visible V8.
They are not worth more than any other Visible V8, but they are rare just the same.
Many of these were returned to the dealer for a refund and then tossed out.
Nice video, thanks.

@NightFlyyer HATE testers glue just use CA on it works much better then "plastic model glue"
you should see the plamo scene in Japan they are nuts with model kits
that non-toxic stuff is the worst glue i have ever used
