  • epoxycock yeah that's them. Really wasn't a good take of that song though. I filmed them at the Fox in Atlanta 6/11/11 and they were smokin'. It's up on my page now.

  • I saw them on Jekyl Island, Ga in 1978, they were rockin' then and still rockin' now. Rock on MF.

  • there ya baby

  • They played in one of our backwoods drinking holes for years in the early 70's (Kannaqpolis,N.C.) they were the rockenest group i grew up with!!! luv them

  • Grew up just N of Atlanta- saw em several times...in the VERY early 80's-

This AIN'T Mother's finest- they were BAD ASS.

  • 1st time i have heard this w/ 2 guitars.still as fat sounding as it was when i heard it with organ on it.love the Dionic holds down a nasty groove combining old school w/new school.two thumbs up.they were before their time.i still hold these cats very high in my heart on the funk/rock ladder.predecessors to the 24/7 spyz, rhcps, and other acts that followed them.remember the past while celebrating the present.

  • 2nd guitar really thickens it up ......... RAUK !!!

  • @ Iaklandmaster Gosh ~ RHCP is excellent,too

  • THE Best Rock-Funk Band in the world.... RHCP eat your heart out.....

  • Joyce. Joyyyyccccceeeeee !!!!

  • Baby Jean is Chaka Khan's cousin, but imo she nails um way better than Chaka

  • This band totally exemplifies the power and majesty of live music.

  • yes...Yes...YES!!!

  • Southern rock at it finest!

  • @MidnightinSavannah damn right, racists HELL NO

  • saw them at the stone poney in the early 70's in atlanta GA, They were great,

  • YES, I started siiting in with them in Chicago circa 1968 played Bass for them when their original Bass player got drafted Circa 1969

  • John Hayes is one badass guitar player, known him since the PG13 days! Looks like the other guitar player is playing John's old Jackson from the 80s, the powder blue one!

  • I worked with them in the late 1960's They are like family--You have to love them!

  • @RandyBluesmanHock Didn't know they've been around that long!!!!!My oldest brother turned me onto them in the 80's!!!!!!

  • @RandyBluesmanHock I've been hooked since first show I saw of their's back around '74...

if any of you ever get the chance to see them GO! GO! GO! you'll be glad you did!

  • Seen in Greensboro NC , they were really really great!! That was in 2010 , how are they still that good! If you ever get lucky enough to see them you will not ever forget how good they are.

  • I saw them in Kiel in 2003 they are my best and favourite group for doing my housemwork and cleaning and of course to motivate me to do this daily job

    RIP alfred

  • i went to their concert today and i met the drummer and the whole band cause my mom went to school with the the drummer {diean} aka they are awsome!

  • watch?v=crm4XzC3l6s

  • This is even better live than on the album ANother Mother Further.

  • Wow. This is the shit.

  • Lead vocals still great. Miss the harmonies. Don't care for the new arrangements (lead guitar) Original still the best.

  • @Teflonslick What do you mean, you miss the harmonies?

    They are singing the harmonies?

  • @Teflonslick I knew that in Nashville when I saw them in 77. went out and bought another muther futrther the next day! And I STILL can 'sing along' and not miss a word. I think thats another thing I love about them. They are whatt they are and they stick with it . They are geniune and dont need all the techno crap. (although I still LOVE my theory of a dead man, BuckCherry etc) but this is rock/soul at its VERY finest!!!

  • There is No Other 2 Compare 2 YOU.....Mother Finest. Saw them in DC, last Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Ft. Dupont. Still Rock'n & Funk'n like it's 1978. They were GREEAAAT!

  • Ima fan all over again waiting for the next album.

  • Rumour was the original singer was Chakka Khan's sister.

  • This is the original singer (Joyce "Baby Jean") and yes, she's Chakka Khan's half sister

  • Dang Puppie! Knew a little of their stuff way back in the day - rediscovered it this year on YT. WOW! AMAZING Funkin' Rockers. This is like a theme song for the ages.

  • I've seen a lot of bands in my 46 years on this planet. This is one band I can't get out of my head. This is The Original Atlanta Party Band! Talented beyond measure yet simply unable to catch hold to any Pre-Set catagory. I miss them greatly. Apparently, the German community has taken them in and they have a large following in Skandinavia. So, while I still miss them I'm glad thay are getting the support they deserve in Europe. Ladies & Gentlemen, from Funk Rock Georgia. Mother's Finest!

  • You are spiking out of my soul !!!

  • Baby Jean is one of the most dynamic and exciting vocalist anywhere in the world!(dare I say?THE UNIVERSE!!!)

If you haven't seen MF live, you must find them and let them ROCK YOUR ASS OFF!!Travel, pay, whatever it takes.Go and see, become a believer.

I grew up in Ky. MF used to open up for many of the national touring bands in that

area. I think I saw them with everyone from Van Halen to CDB. It's the Mother Factor. They are the REAL SHIT!

Baby Jean,I hope you sing forever and a day!!!!

  • They used to come to Raleigh, NC. Love this song...

  • @nikkiloveu01 Just go to VIDtoMP3.com--change your musical LIFE (did MINE!! lol)

  • Nobody as a voice like Joyce "Baby Jean" Kennedy.

Listening to her voice causes almost an ear drum orgasm!!

  • Nobody as a voice like Joyce "Baby Jean" Kennedy.

Listening to her voice causes almost an ear drum orgasm!!

  • This is soooo hot , that Back Rock...

  • Did you say (Back Rock) , I came up with that at a great Tull concert . I know that term and this song is the shit ....

  • I must say that I think her hair is much nicer here than her new un-natural look.

  • She's on one par with Chaka Kahn, no doubt. She's brilliant.

  • I agree w/u! *Any* vocalist trying to cover MF can't hold a candle to Joyce.

  • I just found out 3 days after-the-fact that they were in concert just a couple hours away. I was so upset! Unfortunately I've never seen them live, but I hope that status changes soon..

  • No prob-I understood what u meant. U were very fortunate to have the opportunity to see them so often.

While I like this particular vid-I miss the keys. I like the addl guitar, but there's nothing like a jammin keyboard solo. Insert 'em around 2:10 & this would be complete.

  • THEY ARE COMING TO GRIFFIN TONIGHT!!

  • Alfred Lagarde, The Netherland's best DJ ever. He gave Mother's Finest and Van Halen their lucky breaks in Europe. This concert footage is of his memorial. After Lagarde died I stopped listening to the Radion altogether, there simply was nothing left after his death.

  • SAW THEM BLOW THE ROOF OFF OF 'THE MIDNIGHT SUN'in Spartanburg around 80 or (winthin 6 or so yrs. Right before 'ANOTHER MOTHER FURTHER'. POWERFUL. COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT THESE PEOPLE DONE. BLEW IT APART. AWEWOME.

  • I was at this tribute for Alfred Lagarde in Asta, The Hague.

Mother's Finest was awesome that night!!!

  • I saw Mother's Finest in 1978 rip the roof off the house and make Cameo sound like a Polka band. MF completely annihilated the house and Cameo came on and something was sorely missing in the air...MF was scary, Funky, Rocking and the showmanship was off the chain!!

  • Já conhecia, mas não em video e é du caralho.

  • Wow!!!!!

  • One of the most awesome bands on the planet. True giants of music. FMFMFF.

  • I have to agree with ECSDave. The original members of this band were incredible. Their still very good, but in their early days they were a very powerful band and could scare the hell out of a headlining band if the headliner was just a little off. This group has always been very underated.

  • great observation... they gave queen all they could handle when they opened for them.

  • You realize that this video features 4 of the 6 original members, right? The only thing that's different is they've added a 2nd guitarist in favor of keys and Joyce and Glen's son Dion is playing drums in place of B.B..

  • I sure do SabuPtolemy. What ever happened to their keyboard player? He and Mo blended so good together mixing that southern rock guitar playing in with some very funky board playing. It was also very cool To see Jean and Glen's son BAM BAM kicking the set. The must have felt the same way Eddie Van Halen and his son dose now. Watching those two throwin down on youtube is a treat too.

  • True on all counts. If only we had Mike Keck, and Barry "B.B. Queen" back.

  • i love this song, power and sex, i love it !!!

  • Good taste!

  • woooooow - so lang time ago.

But still a great great song !!!

  • omg!this was greeeeat!!!!

  • Joyce and Glenn's son, Dion Derek, on drums!

  • I saw Prince perform this song live at the Indigo² in London with shelby Johnson... Amazing song

  • Mo is the man!!!

  • Alfred RIP Hey they detuned a whole step in this version! From F to Eb.

  • Joyce Kennedy rocks!

  • The band, in its original incarnation, was quite simply, AMAZING!

  • For sure the best funkrock-band ever

  • Word

  • sweet voice

  • I loved this song when it hit, I love it now.

  • Alfred lagarde concert
