@thekrakenism Well if you compare it to working in a factory that makes wine glasses with machines at maybe 3 per second there is no competition. This job is creative and quite satisfying. In this day and age you consider your self lucky to have a job that you can not only enjoy but love with a passion.
i really dig how you guys make nice knops (i think thats the word?) and such on these, the blue and the shapes are very fluid and simple, its all that i strive for out of a goblet! I'm still at the phase where i'm learning and practicing the traditional venetian assembly method, i'm so close I can taste that wine out of my first really good one!
is your footing tool the one you can get at C and R Loo? i saw it there once. also, are the sides made of graphite? it doesn't seem to cool down the glass to much.
Yes the front and back plates are made of graphite. and they do cool the glass down a lot quicker than the wood boards. but, if you are quick enough these are the beasts! they do a perfect sized foot every time. lovely tool. bit of a learning curve on them though. but that's glass eh!
Well you have the credentuals to get one. crloo sell them I recommend the Essemce FS-5O 95 x 65 mm you can do tiny thin feet and massive, thick monster feet with this beast.
very good....just wondering why you don't wear any protection for hands....isn't the glass very hot???

do you ever get really bad burns but still have to go to work? i know it's a no brainer question but i just thought i'd ask.
i haven't seen people do glass blowing in ages. :D brings me back to childhood memories.
