Pat Petrillo Drumstick Twirls

This brought back memories of being in my high school drumline. We actually used some of these stick tosses. However, it was funny b/c the guys who were the best at the stick tosses were the worst at playing cleanly. I'd much rather be able to play a clean roll than do a cool looking stick toss. I guess the trick is to be good at both?

So the newer one is really Version 2, then? I was a little confused at first. Because I saw two videos, this and a newer one of Pat Petrillo playing two different pads but with the same name. I think Ludwig made a mistake not calling it Version 2. Not a big problem, but I think some people who weren't familiar with the original might be a little confused.

How can he make flams with sticks??? Look well at 3:18. Does anyone understand how 2 sticks against each other can produce flam?!?!

I saw Pat in clinic in 1988 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. It was my first drum clinic, and he was awesome. Still is. :)
