I guess some people tend to forget that an atheist can believe there's an afterlife, and/or souls, and spirits. Atheists just reject/disbelieve in the existence of a god(s).
I don't know about anyone else, but personally I love theology in all forms, it's a massive comedy of errors where on the the most ignorant, and narrow-minded survive.
And no I don't think there is a heaven, but am open to the possibility if evidence of such a phenomenon were to present it self, but not until such time. In general I agree with the guy who said it was an emotional crutch people use. Maybe not in all cases, but I can see this as the majority reasoning.
Seriously, in the next 100-150 years, Religion won't be important anymore. People need to wake up and realize that there is NO such thing as heaven & hell. It's just plain ridiculous & pathetic that people go to war and kill one another over (2,000 year old) fictitious myths!
Well according toThe Book of Enoch(no longer in the Bible, btw)
, there are seven heavens, and some kind of stock shed on every level.
The sky turns on wheels and gears.
The penthouse is where God lives on his throne, and then he tells Enoch how he made the universe by popping the angel Ariel, I think (been a while since I read it).
Heaven: a nice myth created by those afraid of their own mortality. A simple defence mechanism of the mind to avoid having to deal with the fear of death. A way of avoiding reality in order to comofort oneself with the thought of everlasting life.
silencesoloud12, Ramshobraja, call heaven a myth if 'you' so choose, but I'd still take God/Jesus' Words over yours any day of the week. One last time ladies and gentlemen, in the end we will most certainly 'know' what the truth was all along, but some people are going to be very sadly disappointed with 'their' outcomes.
No, jebeja, when we die, we will be dead. Nobody will be learning anything. You have no recollection of what happened before your birth, and thats exactly like what death will be like. When i say nothing, you picture black, but there isnt even that. Itsl ike falling asleep without dreams, the most peaceful thing you can imagine, in my opinion.
You go ahead and pray to god like a good little christian, when the world is bruning due to your ignorance, I will be laughing.
Not true Analyitcal, Ever heard of reincarnation? there was a story on the news a year ago about a 8 year old boy who said he used to be a fighter pilot. back in like ww2. And his plane was not found till after a few months before he was featured on the news if i remember correctly.
Even if you did post a link to a credible source to where i could confirm that, all it would prove is that a little boy knew something he shouldnt have. Perhaps somebody told him about it? If something people dont understand happens they automatically assume SUPERNATURAL ZOMG!.. You know what, ill even grant you the kid actually knew what he was talking about. It still doesnt prove reincarnation. It hints at it, but i would suggest a phsycic ability.
In response to sum of the stupid comments...whatever,whatever, whatever, but I know one thing, u say what u want, but to rule and reign with my Lord n Savior Jesus for a 1000 years and beyond, i'm not gonna miss it!!!!! (refrain any ignorant replies, i simply will ignore delete n block u;)
I wish everyone would shed the belief that THERE religions is THE WAY and the ONLY WAY.
whatever the case may be. Whatever we might believe in, in the end...almost EVERY RELIGION has the exact same ending/outcome. TO BE A BETTER PERSON. To love others. To treat others better. AND IF YOU DO, good will come to you after we shed this physical body.
Whatever the case may be...all religious teachings have the EXACT same principle and meaning...
5starbrand, 'No, every religiou teaching does not have the exact same principle and meaning', especially Christianity which most certainly "is not" a religion which has been spoken against throughout the whole Bible.
It's halarious how people can claim to know exactly what heaven looks like, down to the most minute detail. I wish there were an afterlife and everybody is a toe nail or a ball hair. Then these douche bags would be like "WOW, I made a minor miscalculation.."
Oh reeeeeeeeeeaaaaallllllyyyyyyy???? How does he know this? Oh wait, wait I know. The bible told him. Anyone who buys this book is a sucker and deserves to be ripped off
when you review the scriptures then take to account the people who have seen heaven or hell and have told about it along with our feeling of purpose, i think we can easily conclude heaven is real. God has revealed heaven somewhat. gives us hope. i know that right and wrong exist. its by Gods standard not mans. i conclude that there is a place where wrong will not be. God bless. p.s. when children who were raised by atheist tell you there is a heaven because they have seen it. its real.
Where exactly is heaven? In an extra dimension? Are there more dimensions than just heaven & hell? If no, than I would like to know how you come about to that logical conclusion.
i believe Heaven can follow Jesus where ever he goes. if he were to show up to you and wanted to, Heaven could engulf your natural environment and you would be in heaven. it could be close or far. its a fact there are light waves our eyes can not see and atoms existed before we knew they did. God exist even if people haven't discovered him. i have. you wont find him with your eyes only with your heart. he's not under a microscope. He is spirit and we have one too. God bless all.
Doesn't sound very logical at all, sounds like your just making this up as you go along. What exactly is a spirit? Can we measure it with instruments?
It's so sad when I see people who don't believe in God/Jesus/Heaven. Having God in your life is an indescribable thing, and I wish everyone could share the joy.
I must say i have to agree. Most christians are more concerned about condemming others, than helping.
JESUS CHRIST was an example. Nothing more. He wanted you to LIVE like him, LOVE like him, TEACH like him, have COMPASSION like him.
Almost ALL the gospels were written 100 years later in GREEK (not Aramaic like he spoke) from people who were NOT around...yea,real easy to get the wording wrong. He was an amazing loving example, but i dont view him as a literal god, just sum1 u should strive to be
Great point! That's what I believe, but I couldn't quite put into words like you have. I'm not a good Christian by regular standards(no church, no praying, no bible), but I follow the virtues close because they seem universal. If there is a God, then why would he banish you to a place of suffering for something you committed in life(which compared to eternity is the blink of an eye)? Again, you have a really good point. Nice job!
Exactly, i see that too, but if you want to make a comment, best prove to yourself that you are correct (no offense). Jesus was the second of the trinity and NOT god, God was......well god XD. jesus was just an example of a "perfect" man. but i can understand the miscalculation, many christians say jesus is lord, but then that would make holy spirit the lord, and God the lord...and that makes no sense..
jbpiano1, Because in the Bible sometimes after Jesus' name is the wording 'Lord', while in God's case it's 'LORD', don't believe me then check it out for yourself. And just so 'you' should know, Jesus was and still is "more" than an example of the perfect man.
@jebeja, look your basically restating what i said.. also, i like to add, you seem to be very positive and protective of your belief , and as a fellow believer of christ, that is great. especially about you talking about christianity not being a religion, true. But... the central theme for every religion is how to be a better man, how to truly be holy, or one with nature, or to be perfect...even christianity has that same concept
part 2: in the bible, jesus's main purpose was to bring the kingdom, the good word, or the principles (however you wanna say it) , not religion. what do you think the good word, or the kingdom, or the prinicples are meant for? to make you & me, or the next person next to you a better man!
5starbrand, "Most Christians are more concerned about condemning others, than helping"? So, 'you've' met and 'know' almost all Christians to say this do you? "Jesus Christ was an example nothing more"? Wow, these comments are absolutely mind blowing and more than inaccurate to say the very least. 5, tennis, jb, if I could I'd shake your hands until they fell off, as it's unbelievers (& a few other prophecies) like yourself who've proved the Bible right on almost all counts. Thanks y'all.
You really make no sense...you kinda just jammer on..and yes i said MOST CHRISTIANS, please learn the meaning behind the word before speaking. I DIDNT SAY ALL. There is a difference.
btw, before you make such a critical statement, of me being an "unbeliever" who goes against the bible, be careful to say such things. and if you truly want to defend our father... read the bible, because if you say thats where all the answers lie, you dont need to prove anything, just let the evidence speak for itself...because who said you cant be logical & spiritual?
kerry53able, Can't speak for the Christians 'you've' been around, and don't know what might have been going on in 'their' lives, so how about looking to "them" (God and Jesus) for yourself? Amazing how many excuses us humans can use for unbelief, when "they've" been there for 'us' all the time. Might I ask an important favor (& I'll do the same for u & others) of u? Would u please remember that Christians aren't perfect, make mistakes, but r sincerely praying for u all? No, u didn't ask but...

Oh so funny. These people think they know what happens after death because some random book written 2000 years ago claims to know the truth.

I read Alcorn's book on heaven last year - It's the best I've read on the topic. Highly recommend it!
His novels are good as well. Read Deadline - it's exciting and heartbreaking.
Go buy it today.
