  • WHAT CAN I SAY HE IS A LEGACY MAKES ME SICK HE IS NOT ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME HOPE SOON LOVE U RORY FROM BLAINE

  • Wast able to enjoy Rory while he was alive, was only ´bout 13 when he past away. Still I feel sorrow for the music world for losing souch a great icon. His style and music and devotion (is that how its spelled?) gives me new inspiration every day. Hope we all can keep him in memory and let his legacy live on!

    Love you Rory!

  • He is one of the most talentend musician of all times.

  • and mark feltham give him his due as well excellent

  • such a classy man never nasty or mean spirited, one of a kind

  • No Rory wasn't an acoustic guitar player. He was an alto sax player, clavinet player, mandolin player,MASTER resonator guitar player & I haven't even gotten to electric blues guitar player held in HIGH esteem by all the greats. He's not even playing half of what he knows here. I suggest you listen to Pistol Slapper Blues,Nothing But the Devil, Rag Mamma Rag,or Too Much Alcohol but the best ability Rory had was that he was honest with his music, true to the form and a very REAL,HUMBLE person.

  • It fucking made my day!

  • holly crap! thought i knew most legendery guitarists work,go's to show even nearing 40 there is so much i have missed, heard of rory in conversation but had no idea of the virtuoso musical work, phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cycloneaxe welcome, enjoy the whole Rory experience. You've wasted a lot of time. Those of us nearing 60 still can't get enough, even tho we saw him live, many times.

  • dfinately he is not an acoustic guitar player :) I`m not saying he is bad but is not great on acoustic...

  • @TheBluesSociety so rory gallegher can't play acoustic guitar? Say it load and stand up and be counted, you fool.

  • @TheBluesSociety you sir are a fool who clearly does not know what the fuck you are talking about.

  • @TheBluesSociety Boy are you WRONG , better look at a few more of Rory's acoustic songs

  • @TheBluesSociety Fukwit

  • i only dream of playing like this man :-)

  • What tuning is this? DADGAD?

  • What's this bottle-neck ? That looks like ... a Small jar :p Isn't it ?

  • @xRaZ0r38 I think it was an asprin bottle

  • @bshelby231 It looks like you're right !

  • from electric to acoustic his passion just shines :~)

  • how in the fcking hell a man like this could die

  • @KiMonostereo I think he drank himself to death.

  • is that open g?

  • @Tejas454 it's got to be. you see him playin alot of those "open" chords.

  • @Tejas454 4:53 Yes I think so ;)

  • Excellent playing out of both Rory and Mark Feltham on the harp !

  • This is just INSANE. LOVE IT!! Blues is timeless! Rory is the best guitarist I know. So much feeling!

  • Too freakin' good!!!

  • He kinda looks like jimmy page

  • the best, no one comes close.

  • meine geistig moralischen mechanismen sind mysteriös und komplex

  • das ist musik

  • Go back to your day job Clapton!

  • my hero!

  • Rory was such a class guy, always gave acknowledgement to the other musicians on stage. How to be humble and be great at what you do. If I only could, Rory's at the top of my list to sit down and have a beer with. The world lost a great MAN when we lost him.

  • absolute genius

  • saw him live in new zealand in 1980, Excellent concert

  • ρορυ ζουμε για να σε ακουμε!!!!

  • @wheeler1976 Θεός!!!!

  • If you remember what was going on at this time 1985, here's Rory playin and singin the blues he sure was his own man. Not many people were stickin to their roots mid 80's. He is the essence of the blues and musician=ship.

  • gia su re roryyyyyyyyyyy

  • o_o

  • that blues has a deep soul, very nice to hear. simple 1 guitar 1 harp, nice ;-)

  • super harp man

  • "Blues easy to play hard to feel" Jimi Hendrix

    simple as that...

  • 7 people also have no taste !

  • 7 people have no walkin' blues!

  • Rory is a gittar gawd ;-) seen him loved him miss him RIP irish brother

  • Ok so I fell for Rory because in the" Encyclopedia of Rock & Roll" pic he looked like Jimmy Page....glad I then fell for the Music

  • Sensacional!!!!!

  • Great performance. heart and spirit of the music.

  • was just glad to have seen him,, glasgow apollo few times middle seventies,, great guy,, so humble,, was a god to glasgow people, and his band,, had a beer with him,, a cool cool man. dont compare him with others,, just know he take's some beating..

  • If Frampton Comes Alive turned Peter Frampton into a superstar i don't know how Irish Tour 71 or Live in Europe '74 didn't do the same for Rory. Of course he wasn't as pretty as Frampton and he doesn't have any radio friendly singalong things like Show Me the Way but its a travesty that only guitar players really appreciate his genius.

  • 5 stars

  • saw him live in 1980 in new zealand, he did some acoustic "Out on the western Plain" and he played mandolin as well, Brilliant concert

  • Clapton is a good Songwriter, but as a musician ( guitarist ) Rory is Clearly better , more feeling , more Power, let me say it like this, Clapton plays the Blues , Rory is the Blues !

  • @MrAlex0262 Rory is good songwriter aswell, but I don't like comparing him with Clapton. I agree that he was genious guitar player, also way better singer and I just like him more, but Clapton is a great artist too with a great impact on blues, so I don't think that comparing them is a good idea. Enjoy the music, the more impressive artists we can be listening to, the better it is for us. :)

  • @aledobretociastko Ok, I agree with you :)

  • We love Rory , we love Clapton, it isn't necessary to choose only one... we can hear them both... come on you guys...

  • Rory, you are the one and only man, RIP

  • I would have loved to have been at this concert. Rory Gallagher and Stevie Ray Vaughan at the same festival. Wooo

  • Love ya Rory, sure wish you were still with us

  • can anyone give me an insight on what tuning this is in and how i can learn some of this song?

  • I gotta drink more Whisky to get a voice like him =)=)

  • @joethepainter90 Not only are you so right, but that's the funniest thing I've heard in a while. Thanks, I needed that!

  • A True Legend... Your greatly missed Rory.. R.I.P

  • Clapton's a slave to the blues - Rory was its master

  • so im blues lover from Croatia,we got just one blues-rock band Majke(Mamas)...but i dont understand how 90 % of people in world dont know who Rory is O.o They Shock Me :D

  • love this old robert johnson song, rory does it proud.

  • FYI - Alvin Lee is alive and well and kicking ass. Please leave him off of your RIP lists!

  • Hey let's hunt down those seven tone deaf idiots before they multiply!!They are alien and don't belong here.Really, how can anyone walk on God's earth and have no soul?

  • wow ,seven true assholes on this planet must be the bieber fan club

  • the power of music.especially music like rory's.real and honest

  • Nur die besten sterben jung...^^

Ich bin zwar kein onkelz fan, aber hier passts wieder mal gut

  • realdancerMN Rory unfortunately died of a Staphyloccoccus infection after surgery. Always missed never surpassed.

  • Rory died of cancer. His career lasted much longer than Tommy Bolin. Rory was a musicians musician. Clapton and his peers think that Rory was one of the best player ever.

  • @realdancerMN he died from MRSA infection a few weeks after a liver transplant

  • AMEN .... Balkan Boy ... he plays cause HE PLAYS ... not cause he's Rory Gallagher...but like T.Bolin ... did NOT git his " JUST DESSERTS" . GREAT MUSIC, GREAT MUSICIANS ... AND GREAT DRUGS ... • @MrAssclown777 the crowd booed SRV in his '82 gig at Montreux ... this one is '85 and it was a great success for both Stevie and Rory :)

  • I like Hot Tuna's or Jorma Kaukonen's versions better than this one

  • Rory, brother you rock man, saw you live in 76, just got back off the last 4 years in Nam, saw you in Seattle with Johnny and Edgar Winter with Rick Derringer, brother, you blew the audience away....the only thing I saw that compared was John Mayall and the Peter Green band in a biker bar here in Minneapolis a few years ago....Hey Peter, thanks for the autograph, I know it wasn't easy to give, I could see it in your eyes.............Peace, Keith

  • It's Mark Feltham!

  • :) just my expresion is enough

  • Saved my day. Again

  • Who is his harp player? Wow!

  • Why couldn´t I born some years earlier To see him also live!!

  • Rory On!!! After watching Rory play, Stewart Copeland was inspired to form a band. He and his future bandmates didn't do too bad... The Police.

  • added to Favorites.

  • I saw three live concerts in Madrid, were the most amazing and fantastic that I've seen, GRANDE RORY

  • You are so lucky. Can't believe I'll never see him.

  • clapton who?????

  • clapton what you mean ????????? :)

  • Rory was there somewhere playing the Walkin Blues in 1985 and i was crawling outta my mother's womb in 1985

  • I was born in 88, what a shame!

  • maybe he's jimmy page in disguise...

  • idk if it's just me or does rory look somewhat like jimmy page?

  • no no no you got it the wrong way

idk if its just me or does JIMMY PAGE look somewhat like RORY?

but woah mr clapton stand out of the way. i got me a new favourite version of Walkin blues.

but as 2birdsatswim stated SPREAD THE WORD why hide away with Rorys music when we can share it to everybody around us?

  • no jimmy looks something like rory

  • amazing as always.R.I.P Rory.

  • Saw Rory and his band at Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday celebrations in The Olympia in Dublin. He was magic as ever. The debate of Rory v. Hendrix or Rory v. Stevie Ray or whoever is so pointless. But Rory Gallagher has Rock AND Roll AND Blues and no one connected with his audience like him. I say 'SPREAD THE WORD'.

  • beautiful harmonica

  • great robert johnson cover...

  • the harmonica player looks like stevie ray vaughan lol, rory wasnt just one of the greatest guitarists and performers of all time, but he was also so a gentleman, its so sad the alcohol took over him

  • Mark Feltham is also truely amazing!!!

  • Truely fantastic. He was one of the best.

  • listen also to the version of joe bonamassa!

  • Rory was one in a billion, there has never been nor will there ever be another Rory Gallagher. RIP Rory!

  • Ive been depressed for days, I watched a few Rory tracks on Youtube and now I am flying high, dont need no doctor, dont need no religion, I just got Rory, he cured all my ills.

  • an other good song by rory is shin kiker!

  • I love this music!

  • 6.17-6.33 is the sickets riff in the world

  • not many like rory in this day and age for sure righton ^5

  • but Ya'know.. . .

this was when few Like Rory

played with soul and didn't Care for money and Fame and cameras

they'd Sleep in a Park gig to gig that's what they Lived for to get on the stage and Pore their Heart and soul out .

    now is year of 2009. . .

we don't have people Like that any More

Just few of us Left who hear this sound with the same Soul

    R.i.P. RoRy , hendrix , Janis , Morrison , Alvin.Lee , e.t.c... . e.t.c. . .

  • Very true!! And i am afraid artists like that won`t come around very often.

  • i agree... but i think we just need to give it some time... the blues is america's music, and at least in my local city, i'm seeing tons of blues arrising over this hardcore/indie scene... both young and old musicians are getting the blues, i myself am one... what we need is extreme support on a national level for true talented-music loving musicians...

this attitutude like we'll never see another talented musician become popular again only re-enforces what we all dont want....

  • Aye good comment. Rory was a great ambassador for the really old soulful blues, played with so much passion. His music endures! Love playing his stuff on guitar, suggest you do the same!

  • Alvin Lee is still Alive!

  • Rory was the greatest perforner I ever saw live. I've seen Alvin Lee too; he's good but he's no Rory.

  • its soooooooooooooooo true!!!!!!

  • @BalkanBoyUSA yeah man you're right ,

people like that are hard to find these days ,

and dude did alvin lee die ?

  • @BalkanBoyUSA Alvin Lee is still alive dude.

  • @BalkanBoyUSA YOur right! poz. sa balkana takodjer! :)

  • @BalkanBoyUSA Alvin Lee is not dead yet :)

  • @BalkanBoyUSA alvin lee is alive

  • @BalkanBoyUSA Don't count Alvin out just yet!

  • @BalkanBoyUSA amen!

  • @BalkanBoyUSA Alvin Lee ain't dead, but i get your point :D

  • Alvin is still alive!

  • @BalkanBoyUSA Yeah, R.I.P Alvin Lee... even if he is still alive. :D But yeah man, I agree - we need more... music, not "music". Just blues.

  • @BalkanBoyUSA

I agree they don't make em like this anymore, mores the pity eh???

  • @BalkanBoyUSA Alvin Lee is still very much alive. I saw him a couple of years ago.

  • Rory rest in peace you legend.

  • Rory's version is as good as Paul Butterfields arangement.

    RIP da both of ya.

  • Bonamassa does a killer version
