  • The summer between my sophmore & junior year in high school....long ago...in a galaxy far far away....

  • Back when everyone could actually sing and not be doctored in sound to sound better.

  • Why does EVERY video on Youtube lately have a dumb commercial?

  • I love them!

  • This is my kind of music.

  • Yep they don't make music like this today!

Simple words, enchanting harmony and a great sax.

I was there and still love this song!

    Sad to compare todays "songs"

  • One fine baritone sax break (1:37), from Artie Kaplan. :I:

  • Excellent !

  • Carol King at her best!

  • I may be a 14 year old, but I love this song!

  • A Gerry Goffin and Carol King classic.

  • Gotta love it!!

  • What a joyful sound. Bottle this soulful energy and it will outsell Coca Cola.

  • I sing this song for my performing arts thing. Lovee itt<3

  • chiffons=great

  • were learning this song in chorus!!! its fun!!!

  • lol did anyone else think the one on the bottom left kinda looks like Amy Winehouse?

  • While my friends listen to metal music or Kesha... I listen to this, real music.

  • I used to sing this' but he didn't!!!!

  • Great job! Thanks for putting this up! I think that this was one of the first records that I ever bought...the 45 back when I was about 10 or 11. I'm pretty sure that they were on Capital Records, might be wrong though. Little did we all know back then about the GREAT Carole King and David Goffin songwriting team and the fact that King played that scintillating piano riff on the record.

  • more rock n roll love songs . one of the greatest lp's and now cd's ive ever owned

  • one person never got that one fine day !!

  • This original version is the classic, best one ... Love it !!!!!

  • There was a three-year period in Rock history (Jan 1, 1962 to Dec 31, 1964) that gave us so many singable and danceable tunes. This one is near the top of the list of my personal favorites. So many great memories.

  • zero dislikes.. i like this

  • @sonnysunny14 2 dislikes now :'(

  • @jxice1 If you don't want a reaction then don't fucking reply. It's your fault.

  • such a great song... i was born in the wrong decade

  • @snd263 you're not the only one... 60s all the way.

  • @snd263 AGREED !

  • @snd263

Why lament ????? We have handphones nowadays , just sing along with this song and upload . Hong Kong youngsters have been composing songs and uploading since the launch of Youtube in 2005 .

  • @snd263 I think we all were.

  • I love girl groups!

  • Even though I do like the S Club Juniors version better, this version is still awesome

  • Perfect!

  • Love this song. Classic Goffin and King songwriting.

  • Luv that sax break (1:37)! Anyone know who did it?

Songwriters Carole King & Gerry Goffin had Little Eva (The Loco-Motion) sing this for them first. But her version w/ them just didn’t click, so it was not released. But that session’s wow piano work by Carol stayed, on this version by The Chiffons - tho w/o Carol's vocal work. From May 1963. The Chiffons: Patricia Bennett Judy Craig, Barbara Lee & Sylvia Peterson

Carol King later on has it as her fine hit, too, summer 1980 :I:

  • one fine day i will be her man <3

  • i like this version more! the other videos on here are a different version. anyone know what the difference is?

like did they switch singers or was it just a different sound?

  • @greaserman44 Well, this is the original so the other versions you might have heard are probably re-recordings (which many groups did because they did not have the rights to the original and could not release that version themselves)

I was 17 when this song was released ...absolutely great song, it was a big hit in NYC as well as the rest of the country.

  • in 1963 this song was a hit and still playing on the speakers run thru the downtown business district any one remeber Jimmy Clanton as a DJ? Same town I grew up in.

  • I was born in 1980 but I love the sixties...

  • I love this song!!! I hate new music. I'm surely the only 14-year-old on the planet who is in love with the 60's and can't stand Rihanna, but I don't care! :)

  • @EmilyARTS : You, my dear, know great music when you hear it. It doesn't matter what year, or decade, or era: good music is good music. It just so happens that your love of '60s music mirrors my own. I was a kid during the '60s, and what an era it was. The so-called 'girl groups' were an integral part of what made the music so great: The Chiffons, Shirelles, Ronettes, Crystals, Marvelettes, Vandellas, Chantels, Shangri-las, Blue-Bells (with Patti LaBell!), Murmaids, Royalettes, ....

  • @chatman2a Thank you :)

  • @EmilyARTS fyi, a lot of new music is great, just not what they air on the radio.

  • @mothxal Of course! I love supporting independent and lesser known music, I am in love with many local/obscure artists :D I was referring to how weird it is how popular taste has gone down in quality. I hope to bring better artists to light to hopefully raise the majority's standard.

  • @EmilyARTS popular taste has always been bad. It's popular music that has gotten worse.

  • @EmilyARTS Thank you for having such wonderful taste in music.

  • @Nuttybott And thank you for appreciating it! :)

  • Winter was very cold in 1963,and there wasn't anything to do outdoors on the farm .Our help in the household had her hair up,suddenly she shook it loose (oh! it was so very long, over her hips) and teached me how to do the twist

  • What radio sounded like in the spring of 1963. With all of their hits, The Chiffons still seem seriously under-rated to me. Judy Craig's lead vocal here is a pop masterpiece. It is getting dangerously close to half a century since this song came out, and never for a moment has its exuberance sounded dated. Thank you for posting this.

  • so elegant.. so brilliant. perfect.

  • Best opening 10 seconds of any song, ever!

  • I grew up to this kind of music in the 60's (self-confessed 'Baby-boomer'). Thanks for sharing for the current generation.

  • Strange mix of pictures! LOL But the song is great!
