I don't think I can watch this anymore, I know its isn't real but just its getting harder to watch Aaron came so far and thanks to the whole Jackson story line he worse that he was when he first joined. Hes my favorite character and I don't want to see the self destruction anymore :/
Aaron is hurt, feels guilty, angry with himself, angry with Jackson, etc. Furthermore he is far to young to even began to understand how to deal with his feelings. All he has ever known is how to lash out when his feelings become to uncomfortable. Chaz keep fighting until he opens up to receiving the professional help he so desperately needs. I only hope he doesn't get u killed in the process.
They really are caught in an immovable position. It doesn't matter what anyone says to Aaron, because it can't change his own perceptions of all that has gone on, his guilt and his sense of loss. And Chas can do nothing much smash her head against a brick wall, because what else can a Mother do but keep fighting? The sad truth is I can see this storyline ending with both of them getting killed, of this circle just destroying both of them utterly.
I love Chas for wanting to help Aaron no matter what. Jackson was wrong to ask/demand Aaron to be involved in his suicide. Aaron´s too young and vulnerable to get over it easily. Aaron looked so sad today and ready to do something terrible like hurting himself. Danny and Lucy are very good actors.
@andrew021888 - my thinking exactly; there are so many levels involved & though a lot of people are just paying attention to the surface, all of the underlying self-hatred, self-pity, & above all, the grief Aaron is going through; Chaz in this segment started to touch on what's going on when she said she is starting to hate Jackson; it just may be the key; Aaron's not mad at himself; his anger is toward Jackson; the one person Aaron thought he could trust abandoned him & made Aaron do it
As for people comparing and judging both mothers, I find it cold, cruel and injustice. They are 2 different cases of people and different situations of sons, you can't possibly compare them as mothers or characters! Seriously!!!!!
Now that's a mother.I'm sick and tired of everyone praising Hazel. She's a weak coward who spoiled Jackson rotten. She catered to his every whim even enlisting his emotionally unstable boyfriend to kill him because he was too vain to wait a little longer to adapt to life in a chair. A real parent fights for their kids to face life,to live and to be there for them no matter what.Chaz knew where this was going but everyone wanted to coddle Aaron. She knew because he and her are one and the same.
***BEST LINE*** -- "Tough! None of this was your doing, so why don't you just get over yourself and deal with it!." / This is lyrical -- Aaron blames himself for giving up on Jackson, and Chas is showing real strength by not giving up on Aaron. / Beneath Chas' insecure exterior is a strong mutha! Bravo.
@Mighthore yes, it was a strong line - but what does it mean? It doesn't really make much sense as communication. 'none of this was your doing' - exactly the opposite of A's POV. It was his doing - he helped J kill himself. 'just get over yourself' - err - step over all the anguish and self-blame? It sounds like 'stop feeling such conflict'. Easier said than done - exhorting people to stop feeling anguish just like that - has it ever worked? And 'deal with it' - a slogan - he doesn't know how.
@patroclus33 / O.K. I agree ... those words can be absolutely meaningless. / ... but this is what I thought Chas was saying: "Tough!" = Suck it up! Pack it in! (Oh, wait...that almost sounds /... never mind) "None of this was your doing ..." = This is what life gave to you. "Get over yourself and deal with it." = stop feeling sorry or guilty; stop displacing your anger onto others. In other words, grow up!
Now I feel like we're getting somewhere. Although, there's still the niggling about consistency -- today Chaz is all very aware of what Carl was doing and that Aaron wanted to be arrested (well, she likely knew the latter before, but just didn't want him arrested for her own sake). Anyway, it does feel a bit more like we're moving somewhere forward in the story.
Wow!! So powerful! A great performance by the pair of them. Another shocker ... the mention of therapy. I was beginning to think they existed in some alternate reality where therapy didn't exist! lol
@dabooabs Now she deserves an award for this. She might not have been there for Aaron early on---- but she is like a wonded she bear--- fighting for her young.
@Mr1958louief I know. The writing and acting in this soap opera are SUPERB! I am so impressed!
The actors who play Aaron, Chaz, Hazel, Paddy, and other characters are just fantastic.
It's funny that many of us in North America like to assume we have the best in everything. Well, this makes U.S. soaps/ shows look like they are not even trying :).
Watching clips on YouTube of TV shows with gay storylines from around the world over the last few years has certainly opened my eyes to that reality.
@pppmanly We have NOTHING!! Compared, EVEN CLOSE to the European Soaps. The Acting, Writing, Directing Better Than Any Television Soap or Not. Here in the States... I haven't watched television in 3 years. Here Television is TOOO Bias or just Plain badly written!! In the States we have "The Bible Thumpers" and "Parents" who are afraid of what REALLY goes on in Life!! Europeans WANT to see what REAL LIFE is about. Not The Fantasy we see in The States!! I Applaud each one of them!!
great acting I always loved Chaz :) but I kinda hoping the accident would b more serious like hospital and coma type bc it wld wake Arron up bout his behavior, but then again if it was that serious Aaron would probably b worse (if that's possible) bc he'll feel guilty for killing Jackson and maybe his mom. so idk I think there is a chance for Aaron but it's gonna b a hard looooong fight for Chaz but with that last scene I think it's possible. go Chaz!!! again :)
I NOW HAVE 424 PARTS DOWNLOADED. FROM NOV.28, 2008 TO AUG. 5, 2011.
I HAVE CONVERTED THEM TO WMV SO THAT I CAN MAKE VIDEOS. I HAVE FINISHED 5 VIDEO PARTS SO FAR. ALL THE REAL PLAY PARTS I PUT ON DATA DISK FOUR OF THEM.
I must say though, brilliant acting on Aaron and Chas's part. Always knew she would step up and be a strong mother for Aaron (which is what he needs)... (Well that and a good beating in the behind ;)
@yresistme Right! I made that same connection as I saw Chas standing there all bloodied. The similarities between the situation. I also noticed that just prior to the incident with Paddy AND with Chas he was trying to get them to stop talking right before he exploded on them.
Danny Miller deserves all sorts of praise for those last few scenes. Lucy Pargeter did extremely well too. Very powerful and moving. Really missing the old Paddy though.
This tears my heart out because I have been through what Aaron is going through, have felt these feelings, felt this rage, and kept it all inside until very recently. I can tell you that the Emmerdale writers and Danny Miller's acting are spot on. And with all due respect to those who say Aaron is weak and this is a boring turn, you have no idea what you are talking about, and never will.
I don't agree with Chas that Aaron is strong, I think he actually pretty weak, how many times has he tried to solve a problem with his fists, how many time's has he run away, avoided, and denied things insted of dealing with them. And he fels back into his violant abusive behaviur so easily the moment things got hard, and he trid to commit suicide insted of even trying to deal just like Jackson, there both actually weak neither one wanted to stick around and fight they just gave up.
I am sorry but I just don't like the way the storyline is going. Chaz is a good mother but Aaron is just a monster he's a disgusting brat that is extremely immature. I blame Hazel for this and Jackson they got someone involved into something that just doesn't have the maturity to deal with the situation.
Chaz kicked ass! I have never been less irritated by her! She rocked this scene and said all the right things. I hope this really will be a wake up call for Aaron. He does need to get over himself and begin dealing with his grief. I hope Aaron gets back to the charming and happy guy he was with Jackson.
Amazing acting with Danny and Lucy. They are doing such wonderful job.Aaron is out of control he could of killed Chas or himself.I think that's what he wants to die or just feel pain he hates himself and blames himself for killing Jackson.
The last 60 seconds of thie segment are UN-F***ING-BELIEVABLE! Absolutely brilliant!

Wasn't the actual crash accidental? Though it didn't help of course that Aaron drove too fast.
