  • Very good video -- but I get much better results with the free program Luminance.

  • Use registax :/ worked for my Panasonic when shooting raw, although my fz100 does have HDR option , I prefer the multibracketing with -1ev an +2 ev and combine them in registax and adjust from there , and it's free so download it if you want ;)

  • So is it better to take more shots in a range of exposure? or doesnt matter the number of shots as long as you got both the bright and dim side of the pic?

  • Thanks. One of your other videos inspired me to purchase Photomatic and this video was an excellent guide on how to use it.

  • wow, cool tut

  • Very imformative thank you Dom. First time anyone has ever bothered actually explaining the adjustment menu in detail on the left of Photomatix on YouTube.

  • Dom Can you do a video on hot to mater for the sky and meter for the foreground to get a picture please? I recently tried to take a picture from under a bridge and all I got was a really bright sky :(

  • lol at "keep the blacks down"

  • Nikon dont have AEB built in?

  • @Legacylout mine does but this is just showing that any camera can do it, you dont need AEB

  • @Dombowerphoto Should have watched the first 10 seconds again lol

  • All of the information about HDR Photography, provided on the internet, has been intended to assist and teach "Photographers" how to do this process. While it's easy to teach the shooting aspect, it's both time consuming and expensive to learn how to do the "proper" post-processing. If you look up Pro Photo Results / HDR Photography on YouTube, you will finally be able to get the finished post-processing done for you! You do not need to be a professional Photographer to accomplish this.

  • Thanks for the tutorial, it's great!

  • Hi Dom, Just wanted to mention how much i think you're work is braw. Your tutorials are easy to follow due to your knowledge and clear delivery. Look forward to even more videos like this one.

  • Do you have the latest version of Photomatix Pro?

  • i have a D700, and for life of me i can't work out how to get the auto focus points diagram up on the top LCD screen, anyone know how?

  • @tritton93 d700 doesnt have it on the top lcd only on the back

  • @Dombowerphoto ahh, ok. thats a shame

  • @tritton93 Is your lens in Auto focus? This happened to me on my D7000

  • u do it not wrong, but u can also set bracket in the menu.

then is goes automatic one stop under and one above (ore in 5 steps)

  • how about a video of you showing your bbq skills on that grill, wearing nothing but an apron of course.

  • How could anyone dislike? Gotta be missclick.

  • @johanneswingerlang a miss click or the person is a jared polin robot. NO HDR, DONT CROP I HATE FILL LIGHT

  • @lopezae33 Roflmao yea I guess :-D

  • what about night HDR

  • @2stjimy is there a high dynamic range at night time? Dont think i have ever done Night HDR

  • @Dombowerphoto You should try it, there is actually quite a lot of dynamic range at night. You should mess about with it especially in built up urban areas. With lots of nighttime light pollution.

  • @Dombowerphoto One of my photo's I was told to do HDR... I did a long-exposure at night and then I was told the Sky was under-exposed, Westminster is over exposed.... So I guess so... :S

  • @2stjimy it is posible, but its more difficult due to the lack of light, that depends a lot on the camera you use

  • @2stjimy Night HDR works well near lit areas such as the city, a building with a lot of lights etc. I do not believe it would work that great in an area that is strictly dark.

  • Dom, I love to watch your photography tutorials, they are all very well done. I have a request for you, how about some tutorials on image editing with GIMP 2.6.11, including HDR, layers, curves, stamp-clone etc. image with GIMP.

Keep up the good work that you are doing. Thanks...

  • you have a very very very nice garden and back yard

  • Very Helpful video, Thank you

  • I love the way you do HDR... most people make it look fake and obvious.

I've never been a fan of HDR in the past, but now I've seen that it can be done without making it look rubbish, I might try it out =)

  • like it like it like it

  • Very nice of you to talk people through the settings. I've done some HDR since I picked up my camera and when I was first learning...they were horrible. Nice, video tutorial, Dom!

  • Looks a bit flat. Great video about HDR and Photomatix though!

  • Hey dom what camera were you using.? also what fuji do you have? Thank you keep up the good work Mr.Dom

  • Cheers Dom. I've never really liked the 'HDR look' that some photos have but your image seems to be a bit more subtle and so infinitely better in my opinion.

  • Hi Dom, great video about HDR, i just recently bought Photomatix, it took a load of time playing with all the sliders to figure it out what each of them did, but you seemed to have covered most things in this vid which is great!

  • i love HDR
