  • 7 people bought that girlie magazine.

  • 7 people need to apologize.

  • bret hart in 1997 was fucking quality.

  • Bret Hart was great, stone cold was great, HBK was great. End of story.

  • Its funny how wwe back then was like TNA now but had better superstars ( actualy, its almostt the same roster but wwe made them sell beter) and better stories

  • smh all the kids there that wwf wasn't pg. why the fuck is it now?

  • it is funny.. several years before this.. Bret would of remained the loveable Face while Austin would of bene hated... it really is the crap of humanity that caused the Attitude Era and turned a good guy like Bret bad simply for being a good person haha

  • ... This is a terrific promo. Straightforward, believable, compelling, and the whole thing looked VERY real.

  • CHAMPIONSHIP BELT

  • If Bret did this today, he'd be interrupted by WHAT? chants at the end of every sentence. A 10 minute promo would turn into a 20 minute marathon.

  • cena doesnt have the balls to turn heel

  • Cena please turn heel. Atleast you will be given credits for working your ass off in the WWE if you turn heel.

  • Look at 4:57 the guy behind bret in the audience is holding his crouch lmao

  • After Wrestlemania in 2012 this will be Cena's speech.

  • One of my favorite promos of all time.

  • Bret Hart is one handsome motherfucker

  • Ohhh Cena why won't you do this? Bret Hart didn't want to do this, but at least he had enough balls to do it.

  • @jonjon1189 Right... Cause Cena has control over that sort of thing. -_-

  • @Sonfaro Oh, please.. as if Stone Cold didn't have some creative control and could have told Vince McMahon he didn't want to turn heel at WM17. The face of the WWF has say in how his character develops. He also has control over the merchandise that they put out in his name.

  • @jonjon1189 Right, because that worked out so well for Hart at SS... wait... maybe for Razor Ramon when he wanted to get out of working with Golddust... oh... Still, when Steve Austin refused to job to Lesnar, McMahon totally changed his... Wait.

Popular workers get SOME say. But they DO NOT book themselves. Ultimately, the power rests with Vince.

Aside from that, most reports claim Cena rarely politics. I know only 2 times. Once to get better seats on planes, and once for Kennedy.

  • @Sonfaro Whatever dude I don't feel like arguing about this...

  • @jonjon1189 Cena would do it. In fact your right, he should do it. But Vince and the merchandise sales wont let him. I think he will eventually turn, its only a matter of time.

  • @jonjon1189 Durr, it's up to WWE to decide Cena should turn heel, not he himself. "Balls" have nothing to do with it.

  • @jonjon1189

Hell, this heel run actually proved that Bret could actually work pretty well on the mic, too.

  • @jonjon1189 Cena has said he'd be all for it. It's the brass that don't want to do it because it would mean a loss of merch sales and Cena shifts more merch than anyone. Cena claimed in interviews he'd always do what the office told him and admitted he would love a redesign of the title claiming the spinner belt design had "gotten old" The reason no change? The spiiner belt sells.

  • its true what he says about america!!

  • el mejor que ay, el mejor que fue, y el mejor que nunca abra , atentamente, el mario y alexandra de tijuana

  • 3:29 Looks like we've got an nWo spy in attendance tonight XD

  • there is 6 people out there still trying to find there smile

  • @50centFearsMe lmfao that made me laugh for a couple minutes

  • Funny how brets a heel for being honest. Onlu in america can you justify this. (am i a heel now to? lol)

  • @charismatic9904 Completely correct

  • You could tell he was NOT comfortable being a heel. It was way to forced.

  • @a7xtherevrend Agree. He's even said it himself - he was not comfortable with the comments he made about the USA. He's a dual citizen of both USA and Canada, BTW.

  • Greatest moment for Bret Hart this was a great heel turn; he saved the WWE and brought in the 'attitude' era with the introduction of the Mr. McMahon character.

  • this is when bret became one my favorites. it was an incredible time to be a hart family fan, they were nearly unbeatable in 96/97

  • Bret Hart, best there is, best there was, & best there will ever be & he's past it on the the Hart Dynasty. Only to have Natalya & Tyson kid to be left.

  • the fans turned heel on bret

  • @1020Shane no the WWE did

  • wow i fell asleep

  • @SicilianGunner What did you dream?

  • don't worry aboot that

  • I thought Austin beat Bret in that match. Shouldn't Bret be champ?

  • @piefish1000 it wasn't a championship match

  • im probaly gonna get some flack for this but i live in the united states and i was born he and .......i am very very very pro canadian to the point to were members of my family get upset ...i agree alot with bret nd what he says

  • "gay magazine"....awesome lol

  • What's the deal with the hate that John Cena gets these days? Yeah I remember that Pittsburgh line it was great. But what I really loved was the kiss my ass comment.

  • The WWE needs to take notes, this same thing is happening with Cena and CM Punk. Bret hart was the old top guy and champion and Stone Cold came along and stole his popularity as well as his top spot and changed the WWF. And when Bret came out even though he wasnt he got booed and Austin cheered...same as today. This same thing is happening now and they need to make Cena turn heel just as Bret did and let CM Punk "take over".

  • @physicalgrafiti12345 I think they're keeping Cena face for his match with The Rock at Mania.

  • @AJ36sXe Good.. That will work out as well as it did for Rocky when he fought Hogan at WM X8 in Toronto. Cena will become that most hated heel ever within 5 minutes of fighting the Rock. Why Cena isn't hated already is the ignorance of fans recognizing non-talent when they see it.

  • @jhiggs17 He does have talent, people have too much hate to realize logic. However, I think WM 28 will be the perfect time for him to turn heel. After the match, regardless of the results, The Rock asks for a handshake, Cena gives it to him, then low blows him. Simple, yet effective. Even the next night on RAW, have he and The Rock exchange words, but Cena would just walk away. This'll all lead to a WM rematch for Summerslam.

  • @jhiggs17 @AJ36sXe First impressions are lasting impressions. When Cena came in he was forced on the WWE Audience. He came at the same time the WWE decided they wanted to appeal to a younger demographiic. He had a limited set of moves and people recognized that especially when he fought RVD at the ECW PPV. Since then Cena has improved his arsenal but the fans still remember the original Cena and still hate him. He has the ability to be a great heel but ppl don't buy the suck up babyface promos.

  • One day Shawn will admit he faked that injury

  • I'm Canadian and I don't give a flying fuck about Bret Hart. HBK FTW.

  • @HearTBreaKiD023 very sad.....

  • @PerfectPlex090 No it's not. It's very sad when people are forced to like someone because they are from the same country you live in. I have a brain and a opinion. Bret Hart is a piece of shit and HBK is the greatest wrestler ever....

  • @HearTBreaKiD023 "It's very sad when people are forced to like someone because they are from the same country you live in".this is a stupid comment ,doesnt make a sense at all because bret hart has a lot of fans in usa and all around the world and if you hate bret hart like that just dont enter his videos.

  • @superegyptian300 yet Bret assumes every Canadian thinks he's our hero. Also I didn't enter this video for Bret (lol).... I did for HBK.

  • @HearTBreaKiD023 are you shawn? u sound like him.....

  • Dislikers Prefer Gay Magazines lol

  • Very hard to tell if he faking or not that's what was great about Brets heel promos.

  • The Americans were not respecting Bret Hart enough after 1995 so I am glad he took this route. I'm an American and yet I'm so crazy for Canada !!!!

  • I went to a Sunday Night Heat show in Chicago some time after this turn, being a HUGE Bret Hart fan forever, I cheered my ass off for him despite all this. Anyway, he catches me cheering him in the crowd (the only one in my section) and stares at me for like 5 seconds like I had a dick growing out of my forehead.

  • I looked up to Bret Hart, a perfect role model! the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be

  • bret hart was the best good guy and the best bad guy period....

  • Bret actually struck me as almost a sympathetic character here. He was screwed over a number of times. The whining, while annoying and heel-like, did strike me as justified. I find it hard to argue against Bret's claims about American culture, too.

  • @Galen052 And thats why he was one of the best at his work...to be a good heel you have to justify your behaviour, in bret's case he wanted the fans to be sympathetic towards him

  • @alansalt Yes, Hart was so great here because he justified his actions, like you said all heels must do. We need to distinguish between self-justification and sympathy. Typically, babyfaces should get sympathy. Heels try to justify their actions, although they often reject fans' sympathy by telling fans to "kiss my ass," like Bret did in this promo. Nonetheless, I think he still came across as sympathetic just because it was so easy to see where he was coming from.

  • Comment removed

  • @Galen052 well said, sir

  • Haha!@4:24

  • all the women and kids cheering for Bret.

all the men cheering for Stone Cold.

    hmm..seems familiar.

  • you know fellas- Too bad you cant hear the things that are being said in the back with the boys... There is a reason that Cena has the strap, I may not be his biggest fan- but he puts an ass every 18 inches and that is all that matters in this business! You will still buy a ticket hoping he gets his ass kicked! Job well done John!

  • THIS one promo proves that Bret was fucking AWESOME on the microphone. A true legend. And to anybody who says otherwise; FUCK YOU.

  • Cena is Brett and CM Punk is Austin of this era, Dave Herro called it!

  • @vinWo316

Oh please shut you retarded mouth and get a fucking clue...

  • Comparing the legendary Bret Hart to that talentless piece of shit John Cena only exposes you as a redundant fuck bag. Please get fucking good, or fuck off. You absolute fucking idiot.

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge i am sorry for comparing Cena to Bret, i was only taking notice on the situation i am sorry for that, and i agree Cena isnt good but he does have some mid card talent, Cena isnt completely talentless

  • This was the time when holding the title meant something.......

  • Pretty shawn michaels??? wtf

  • @Rextyrannt ...it was irony?

  • Bret as a Heel....... what a Classic..

  • BEST THERE IS, BEST THERE WAS, BEST THERE EVER WILL BE!

  • i so,soooo enjoy watching heels,even i do so :D

after chris jericho,i dont see no heel recently

  • See WWF back then was for everyone men, women and kids enjoyed it.

I don't get why today it's too over the top kid friendly.. like poop jokes, really? Kids really find that type of stuff funny?

well then i guess kids today must be dumb. Because i remember growing up watching all this old stuff and i appreciated the good stories.. i always cheered for Bret Hart.

  • DICK GRABBIN!!! in the backround 4:55

  • @MiamiHeatflava

Wow, would never have seen that.

  • 這個影片 我看了好多遍 滿希望有中文字幕!

  • I don't care what anyone says, the heel Bret Hart had some very good promos and lines, and helped divide the fans. "If you were to give the United State of America an enema...you'd stick the hose right here in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania." Oh, did the crowd respond to that.

  • @RKsolid5586 awesome quote lol. i agree. hart was voted most hated in 1997 more than hogan who won that away in 1996 i believe. harts heel turn was a first - heel only in america but face the rest of the world over. kind of like a tweener - but not like a boring tweener like cena.

  • Sure we hope Cena can turn heel but his wrestling skills won't improve much.

  • I hope one day Cena can turn heel like Bret Hart did...

  • That's not how you win an argument by saying end of discussion that's madness.

  • @KOHLER17 attitude era was the best because of one important factor......RATINGS!!!!!!

  • Obviously the Montreal Screwjob was a disaster for the sport on many levels. However, one of the reasons I think it was such a shame is because Bret was in many ways actually peaking physically and personally as a wrestler in 1996/1997. He'd always been in great shape, and may have been quicker in the early 90's, but around this time he looked in the best shape of his life, and had mastered promos. It all went downhill for him so quickly after Montreal. His health/character/ability/desire faded

  • The best there is, the best there was, and the best there always will be.

  • Great tan the hitman had

  • @screamin07 That is the NEW GENERATION WWF

  • Bret Hart was all Hart

  • 1997-2000 were the best years of wrestling. The WWE had the attitude era where they pushed the envelope with adult story lines. Bret & Shawn, then Steve Austin, the Rock & Undertaker being darker than he ever was at the top of the card. The WCW was bad ass also with the NWO, Hogan, Nash, Hall, as well as Goldberg, Sting, Luger etc.

Then after vince bought WCW in 2001, all that was left was WWE, then the story lines got weaker & weaker, all the stars were leaving, and now its a lame KID's show

  • I stopped watching wrestling a year before this. at the point when it seemed to me that it was becoming difficult to determine who the good guys were & who the good guys were. For example. This promo makes me feel for hitman rather than hate him he's half apologetic/ half loathing.

  • @Cerebralator you missed out. 1997 was the best year in wrestling history!

  • Bret Will Always Be My Hero If He was a Heel Or A Face He is not like Cena

  • HBK vs. Hitman was the greatest rivalry yet.

  • i wish it could go back to the way it usto be on raw is war

  • 100% bang on

  • I'd love to see Cena do this and shove it up his haters' ass.

  • "First of all..." Well, first of all, that wasn't an "I Quit" Match, that was a Submission Match.

  • Shawn screwed him out of the belt twice i guess haha

  • @MrColtini The Heel Bret Hart was the best

  • Andy Kaufman reading "The Great Gatsby" in this spot would have been easier to take than this long ass winded promo. Love you Bret but this was ridiculous.

  • Best yr of wrestling was from 97-02. Nothing can top that period.

  • his character was right, thats what made it so good.

  • Top 5 heel turn without a doubt

  • this interview was sad for me to watch. i was such a mark for bret hart as a kid from 92-96. I knew he was headin down this path in the months coming to this, but i always hoped he'd turn the corner back to being the old Hitman.

  • @jeffbrister2004 I completely felt the same way. I was a huge Bret Hart fan who had been following Bret Hart closely from around 1990 and I hated seeing the fans start booing him. It made me really sad that his decline in popularity probably meant that his career would soon be ending. He was the perfect wrestler and I loved seeing him on TV every week. Nobody has ever made an impact on me like Bret Hart did. I miss him and Owen Hart a lot.

  • 6 People posed for a "Girlie Magazine "

  • Hart v Austin rivalry in a way started the seeds of the Attitude era

  • 1997 in my opinion was the year that the WWF started to pick up

  • heel in the US, face in Canada. pretty cool concept

  • Such a legit heel turn. Nothing forced about it. The fans turned on him, so he was scripted to turn on them. You can almost see fiction and reality blurring here. Great stuff.

  • Bret Hart scripted the attitude era,, he pushed shawn michaels and steve austin to top!!

  • i was never a fan of bret, but god, when he put someone over, he put them OVER!!

  • bret hart is such a winer god he could never have survived the attitude era

  • @gr8arpit1

do you even know that he was the reason the attitude era was born ?

  • HBK is a proud member of the Blue Oyster Bar

  • love brets attitude whether good guy or bad guy lol, 80's and 90's wrestling was the best! the attitude era

  • da most good looking guy in wrestling history bret hart. da best wrestler in history of wrestling bret hart . his sunglasses his jacket his boots his dress awesome.bret rules

  • bret was the better man then hbk and austin for sure.

  • Bret Hart sucks on the mic. He probably should have had a writer.

  • @666Horns

    BULLSHIT!!

  • It was a submission match btw

  • so he could go home and find his smile. damn he was killing shawn.

  • This was the most worthless heel turn and gimmick change in wrestling history. He was a heel to the American fans, but was like a major face to the Canadian fans. That move and gimmick change totally ruined the lat bit of his career before going to WCW.

  • wresling was real befor now its fake life um half fake they do kinda feel pain

  • @TheSAMAD12 man you're dumb

  • I believe Bret Hart is bigger in Germany than David Hasselhoff. I honestly do.

  • @OofmanRulz wrong

  • man!!!!!!!!!!!!! the so called wwE has fallen from grace real hard in the last 7 years

  • @akisgr8101 more like 11

  • the real bret ladies & gents

  • 1997 was, easily, the best year in wrestling history!

Watching guys like The Rock come of age. Stone Cold DOMINATED everything. Bret Hart, Shwan Michaels. The formation of DX, The Nation of Domination. The Montreal Screwjob, Vince McMahon turning into Mr. Macmahon, and the beginning of The Attitude Era.

1997 LEGENDARY! God all mighty how I miss The WWF.

  • @GialloHorror Yet another reason why the 90's was the best era.

  • @GialloHorror Let's not forget the year 1997 for WCW. The Giant came on to the scene, the nWo was at the height of its popularity, Goldberg came onto the scene, Sting was on top of the world, even Scott Hall was on top of his game that year. DDP was a big draw, Chris Jericho was rising (somewhat) and Flair was also a big draw. 1997 was probably the biggest year for WCW. 1997 had to be the best year for wrestling ever, with the Monday Night Wars at the apex, pushing both brands to greatness.

  • @hoagly ECW was better than both of them in 97

  • @GialloHorror this makes me happy and sad. there are those days, huh? i so want bret could still wrestle, its sad. my favorite wrestler of all time. and that time was wrestling pick era. do you think its possible to bring those days back? hard to believe...

  • @amirprog I hear ya man. I miss these days in the worst way too. Bret Hart was, is, and always will be, a LEGEND! He was GREAT as both a face and a heel. Austin is my favorite wrestler of all time. Bret Hart is in my top 3.

In my opinion, he's the best technical wrestler in the history of that business. The fued with him and Austin is my favorite of all time. When Hart turned heel here, I had a new found respect for him. I LOVED this angle and spin on his character. Bret Hart LEGEND FOREVER!

  • @GialloHorror nah man it was all about 1999-2002

  • @MHS032 Yeah awesome, 1999 sucked ass. (2000-2001 did rule) As soon as Russo left it got better. 1996 and 1997 were so great because wrestling was turing a corner, WWF was changing, ECW was the little freak that could, and nWo was actually new and exciting. Thats why it was so great, the tide was turning.

  • @B3WorldPictures also 99 most of it austin was either out of the wwf of wrestling injured, coincidence?

  • @GialloHorror

I agree 1996/1997 best two years

  • @GialloHorror

Agreed, just a shame that you wrote 'Vince McMahon turning into Mr. Macmahon'.

-The spelling of his name didn't change. Doh!

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge LMAO! HAHAHAHAHAHA! I didn't even notice I did that. Typo

  • @GialloHorror no way; the 80's and early 90's with rick rude, jake the snake, hogan, macho man, roddy piper, andre the giant, mr. perfect, ricky steamboat

  • @jpm4444 All those guys ruled too

  • Man if you thought you got fucked at Wrestlemania 12 Bret.. you aint been to Montreal yet.... hahaha

  • bret was one of the best of all time

  • when i first saw this on raw when bret turned i hated it, but when he reformed the hart foundation i loved character better than his hitman character. he was brillian and funny. he would go to any country europe and eastern europe he would treated like a god. but when he gets back to the u.s. he would treated like he was peace of shit but he would use that to his advantage and say america was like a gaint toilet bowl lol really he did'nt mean.
