Jahuah, my spirit risises each time I hear this hymn. The Isaacs voices are like clear bells heard by my heart. I am sure the Holy Trinity and all of the angels are listening.

Following the sinking of the Ville du Havre, Anna gave birth to three more children. On February 11, 1880, their only son, Horatio Goertner Spafford, died at the age of four years, of pneumonia. (their 1st son was also 4 when he died of scarlet fever) Their daughters were Bertha Hedges Spafford (born March 24, 1878) and Grace Spafford (born January 18, 1881).
In August 1881, the Spaffords set out for Jerusalem as a party of thirteen adults and three children and set up the American Colony. Colony members, later joined by Swedish Christians, engaged in philanthropic work amongst the people of Jerusalem regardless of their religious affiliation and without proselytizing motives--thereby gaining the trust of the local Muslim, Jewish, and Christian communities.
During and immediately after World War I, the American Colony played a critical role in supporting these communities through the great suffering and deprivations of the eastern front by running soup kitchens, hospitals, orphanages and other charitable ventures.
Spafford died on October 16, 1888, of malaria, and was buried in Mount Zion Cemetery, Jerusalem.
The man who wrote this song reminded me of Job. Even his wife told Job to curse God and die. He lost eveything but he still held on to God. The man lost his 4 daughter's but yet was able to say It is well with my soul. What faith in God!!!!
There are times in my life dat I ve gone thru trials and tribulations and most times I find myself crying from emotional hurt but listening to this song has helped me realize dat at such times, instead of grumbling and crying(it's ok to cry,for me it helps relieve tension),He wants me to trust Him enuf to say it is well no matter wat
I'v bin going thru some tough times in my life, not as tough as d song writer though but sometimes I find myself grumbling and asking God y then the lyrics of this song ministers to my spirit, restores my hope in Christ and helps me remember that God doesn't want me to grumble or sit somewhere sulking wen things get rough but instead He wants me to trust Him enuf to put up a smile and say it is well no matter what.Daniel's friends knew this and that is why they told king nebuchadnezzar that o kin
As I watched this video, of a song I had always known, the story moved tears off my head, down my cheeks at the realisation that whatever I, or anyother person, is passing through or may pass through, "IT'S WELL" - thank you the ISAACs
I never knew the story behind this song...My struggles are so small compared to what this man went through...what an inspiration he was! We'll see you in heaven my brother!...Thank you Lord for your love!

An Absolutely stunning rendition of this beautiful song which communicates the message of Jesus and the completeness of his work of forgiveness of sins to those who will believe. Thank you Isaacs!

Mr. Spafford's life, before and after writing these lyrics, indicate that he actually did have the faith suggested by the lyrics. Absolutely amazing.
