I opend mine up, took out the color wheel, messed wiht the motor, put it back in an now it works. Seems a good smack might do the trick sometimes. Trying to find a replacement color wheel. If the light is on then the bulb is good. i have a feelind that the lid to the lamp door may have been loose, there is a little finger in there that pushes when the door is closed, wiht that door off the lamp will tel you bad bulb
the same thing is happening to me. I think it may be the color wheel. not sure, mine shows hp but the screen background is while and it flickers the image but the light is strong.

and if i shake the projector it will show the hp logo and the light stays on
