They were denied the ceremony, that is all. The matter has not been resolved yet as it has just been filed earlier this month but doesn't stand much of a chance once it gets out of Illinois state courts. State law does not trump First Amendment rights. Period. You can argue and moan about it all you like but it won't change that fact.

the problem is that Jews or black people are different from gay people, it is NOT the same thing.
Marriage is between a man and a woman, it doesn't say anything about black men and women or Jewish men and women not being allowed.

@kilox1000q I never said gay marriage would lead to interspecies marriage. I said we all draw the line somewhere, ie you draw the line at porcupine but unfortunately the majority of america draws the line at marrying gays. Period. Like it or not it doesn't change anything. But undoubtedly over time people will care less and allow it, I mean, as you said its legal in some states now so its really only a matter of time... especially if paul gets elected which would be a good thing for america

@kilox10001 I didn't equate gays with animals... but it is another form of taking away someones rights is it not? If a man loves an animal its not your place to tell him he can't marry it right? Marrying someone can't be genetically unhealthy. As far as your question goes, I personally don't care but aside from this being a democracy and the majority not wanting gays to marry we don't need a reason. I assume people will change their minds eventually.
