MICHAEL EFFIN' SCHENKER PLAYING A STELLAR INSTRUMENTAL PIECE OF HIS WITH THAT UNMISTAKABLE HAUNTING EUROPEAN MELODY STYLE HE WRITES WITH.......ALONG WITH RUDOLF AND MATTHIAS OF THE SCORPIONS!!!! THUMBS UP IF YOU FEEL IT DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS!!!!!
I think this is about the time Schenker rejoined UFO. They toured with him round this time. Great show!!! But then it was all gone again after an LP or two. Schenker released an LP with this tune but was only available at concerts and fan club. Thx. Great post!
@AXEFLYERFV I feel the same way about the Scorps' status in America. They are huge around the world yet so many in the U.S. look the other way. Why are there "VH1 Behind the Music" episodes on new artists that haven't hardly broke any ground? Where is the Scorpions episode?
@jeffcaronsmusic MTV & VH1 ended flushed down the toilet long time ago, ( It was good when first started ) I think is the people( producers) that run them shows now, they should be taken to the gallops ,now is more about making money with more viewers than the quality of the music!
VH1 BEHIND THE BULLSHIT should be the new title, LOL!
@59mar well for one, he was an alcoholic who had alot of chances to take UFO into legendary status but failed the group at its peak..His erratic self destructive behavior from drinking i.e. missing gigs, practice etc caused him to go AWOL and be fired from UFO...Michael is truly one of the most amazing guitarist the rock world has ever known but his demons stopped him from reaching guitar god status IMO
@flippyflyer You obviously don't know the whole story behind it,there's more than what you just said!
unfortunatelly Phil Mogg had alot to do with Schenker's departure, he was not fired, he quit UFO, I have posted interviews from Michael & Phil talking about some of the other reasons why UFO didn't reach Stardom Status, UFO couldn't get to the top without Schenker ofcourse the drinking had to do with alot of things but Schenker was not the only drinker in UFO!
@AXEFLYERFV I agree that UFO needed Schenker to get to the top..and i agree that everyone in the band might have drunk but i think not showing up to gigs is a cadinal. and during the "Obsession" tour?? the peak of their career?? If it wasnt a big problem, then why was Chapman go along on the tour?Michael may have "left' UFO, but he did FAIL them in their finest hour,Maybe Michael subconciously didnt want to be successful. IMO the next Schenker/UFO record would have placed UFO into Zep status
@flippyflyer He has explained why on different interviews why he would take off, dissapeared etc, he also said the He warned Mogg if he hit him again he would quit & Mogg punched him in the stomach & he left,Chapman was called to finish the American leg of the Tour, since they had tried having 2 guitarists in a live act, Chapman on second guitar back in 1974/75 but Schenker didn't feel comfortable having a second guitarist, so Chapman was the choice to replace Schenker,
@AXEFLYERFV I do agree with you about a follow up album to Obsession would've been the one to make UFO huge, , I believe Walk on Water was the follow up album, too bad he left too soon , am sure there are lots of regrets from both Mogg & Schenker but as Schenker has mentioned, he wanted to do things different be more in control of his music, there's so much history that alot of people don't know including myself, but it's all done now!!
@AXEFLYERFV well i dont know about the physical violence but mogg is like 5 feet 5 inches tall..come on. Are you telling me Schenker's demons had nothing to do with his split from UFO..whatever the reason was, i think it was one of the biggest "couldhavebeens" in rock n roll history.
@flippyflyer Size means nothing, Mogg was kind of a bully with an attitude & that was his mistake too !
look, all I said that there was more to how you described on your first comment, sure Schenker has demons, Mogg ,Way had them, everybody has some type of demons, Schenker left UFO, came back with MSG, UFO kept going but your comment made sound like it was all Schenker's fault, if you post a comment right on ,my response was that there was more about the whole history,
@AXEFLYERFV ok ill give you the Mogg bully thing but youhave to agree that if they would have gotten along and continued to make music and not have been on their sh*t label and been on say Atlantic Records, they might have been one of the biggest rock acts in history.
@flippyflyer You are absolutelly correct & I agree with you 100% on what you said , when these guys make music in a studio ,nobody can touch them but is just too bad ,they did ruined it for them & for the UFO fans, am still hoping they would come out with another album & tour again!!

59mar 1 year ago 4
@59mar one of Rock Music History biggest flops,he never got the credit he deserved while so many other guitarists influenced by him did!
Tragic!!
I will never understand that & now music is crap!
