The artwork always reminded me of Charlie Brown. Did the same artists work on it? I've been looking for this- thank you! My mom had me watch it, when I questioned Santa Clause. Brings back memories :)
ive never believed in Santa and my Christmases have always been magical and memorable. We didnt need Santa to show what it is means to have Christmas spirit or what giving means.
I am way past my prime - I still believe in Santa Claus - Not the being but the spirit his name brings. And I will never stop believing - Then I lose my childhood memories and my belief in men and woman basically wanna be kind to each other - - - That is my Snata Claus.
I´m from germany. But i love this movie (it ist part of my yearly christmas-programm) and i´d like to know, if this movie will be shown in american TV this year. I wasn´t able to find it (only a new animated one. But the 1974-version is more charming and adorable).
@MeutenStefan If you're willing to buy it on VHS, it's available from Amazon. It's in region 1 format though, so you'll need a multi-region VCR to play it.
Oh my goodness. I have not seen this is years! I loved this as kid...it came on TV one year and my mom recorded it and I watched it every year after. So nice to be able to watch it again!
I have loved this story since I was a wee little girl. I am thankful that there are good people still getting it out there in this time of darkness to lighten the way of childhood not only in America but in the entire world. Thank you for being one of those good people. Merry Christmas to all forever. May God Bless the Children and give them faith to believe and be children while they can instead of small adults. Please give children a real childhood once again.
I'm Kind Of Like Virgina, Because I too Believe In Santa Claus, and I also believe that their's an explaination to everything. and that includes Santa Claus.
My name is Hannah, I'm a high school student, and I'd like to use a short clip from this video (as well as parts 2 and 3) for a documentary I'm making as an assignment for English class about Santa Claus. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to send me a message.
I haven't seen this special since I was 9. Brings back so many memories. As I get older, I am always looking for things that remind me of my youth and childhood. THX 4 posting.

i think what XxSTICH666xX is trying to say is that,.......well who's name is in christ-mas
even though santa is a very big part of christmas he was not the basis for christmas
but maybe he did save it by spreading generosity because the day was originally a pagan holiday and alot of people were disturbed by this so he was the original holiday cheer spreader
I saw the new Yes,Virginia on CBS last week but I never saw this one. I hate the way the kids treat her in this one. I don't care how old I am i still believe in Santa. If there wasn't a Santa there would never be a Christmas.
I loved this show when I was younger, but I hesitate to show it to my kids (ages 5 & 7) yet, in case it affects their belief in Santa. Right now, they & all their friends still believe.
Susan Silo, who voiced Virginia's teacher, was also known for playing the Riddler's girlfriend "Mousey" in Batman (1966). It was the two-parter where Riddler kidnaps King Boris.
so they look like left overs from a charly brown special and they let black children and asians in school with whites in new york in the late 1800's? this is kinda messed up.
The reason they look like "left overs from a charly brown special" is because the person who animated the Peanuts specials was the same person who animated this. As for the race issues, I'm not really too literate on that aspect of the late 1800s, but I'm pretty sure that discrimination was rampant them. But whatever the case may be, let's just call this a little thing known as artistic license.
OMG!! I have not seen the full Show on T.v. since the 70's. I'm very surprised this was NEVER on Video or Dvd. Thank God for Youtube.Lol! Thank You too Pressmin. This definately takes Me back to Childhood. You've made My Thanksgiving and early Christmas. can't wait to spread the Word about this Fantastic Post.

Another proof that you don´t need perfect high-quality-animation and gorgeous special effects to create a REALLY good cartoon.
