  • In an Infantry movement after SHTF in an urban environment, a good shotgunner can replace your M-203 gunner and an automatic rifleman. As far as machine-gunner goes, one 00 buckshot 2 3/4 inch will spray 9 .36 caliber bullets at the enemy all at once!! The grenadier? And/or the sniper: Slugs will punch through concrete like nobody's business!! With great mid-range accuracy, too!!

  • NIce I have a single trigger stoeger condor double under and over my self. Those rifled slugs work great on pigs.

  • how about buckshot , slug , flare for a rotation ?

  • I feel like I'm atschool when your counting

  • I Like the Mossberg Maverick w/pistol grip, may hold off a few mauraders but when the UN Military Police arrive they will confiscate whatever you have. Safest bet- but only .0001% will do it is get out of town as far into a rural area as possible completely off the grid.

  • Been thinking about augmenting my collection with a double barrel as a non-tech backup to my 870. Found one that is perfectly balanced for my. Bring it up and as soon as it hits my shoulder it is at the correct aim shoot position.

  • When neighbor's houses are nearby, don't get a rifle for home defense. The round you fire could go through several houses and kill a neighbor. Shotgun buck shot has a limited range. I too have a Mossberg 500. The shells I loaded were first an 8 shot shell, followed by 00, then another 8 shot, then 00, etc, The first shot should spread wide to hit a large area since it may be at night. When you can better see the assailant, finish him off with 00 shot; and you will not likely hit a neighbor.

  • @dwightinutah

Several houses? Is that a magic bullet....

  • Thanks a lot for this one Noel! I watched it when you debuted it and this video inspired my purchase decision to get a Benelli Nova tactical as my first firearm. I took some flak for not getting a "main battle rifle" first... but everyone NEEDS a shotgun! I also put on the stock shell holder and used the electrical tape to kill two birds with one stone by covering the rubber and holding the saddle towards the rear. Excellent advice!

  • Good vid. The mossberg you got is nice, i was looking into the 590a1, was all ready to order one then someone suggested the Ithaca M37 (they used this one in the NAM , Navy Seals. ) and found out it is the best American shotgun made and it is even better built than the mil-spec 590 I was about to get. Remmy like you said is good also. My M37 loads from the bottom like yours but ejects from the bottom too. Best damn shotgun i ever picked up by far. Smoothest, fastest easiest to use and load.

  • @MrSkaramanga They say #1 Buckshot is best.

  • @ED209ISBACK #1 or 4 or 00 are all good. They all have they strong points. Just do not use birdshot. It may not stop a crazed attacker. The others will.

  • @DavidGilmourRox At close range (up to 30 feet) bird shot will tear a torso apart. Go st some targets up to see the shot patern. I use #7 for burglur situation 00 and slug for anything else.

  • @Robbob9933 check out the ballistic tests online, birdshot is consistently stated as not having enough penetration to damage vital organs like 00 or number 4 does.

  • @DavidGilmourRox I live in a condo so I must control for over penetration. 00 buck will go clean through these walls and #4 is hard to get in my area. The idea of self defense is to stop the attack and if the bad guy dies in the process so be it. If anyne gets hit in face, chest, stomach, crotch, or thighs with a load or 2 of #7; if they live they will not want to play the game anymore. I do have a nice store of slug and 00 for the right time.

  • like zombies. shoot them in the facewith buck shot slug . then you got a nice bullet proof vest and outfit you can take off their body for yourself LOL

  • if i had to pick one gun it would be one of the 20ga/22

  • Im tryin to prepare and warn people and everyone is callin me crazy

  • @rmck468 join the club.

  • very informative i own a pump and a 30 30 i feel pretty confident with those two

  • I like my mossberg 500 because its made in America.

    Good video.

  • @cookiescotthug Mossberg is a Swedish company. Whether or not they are made in the U.S.- only I am not certain of however.

  • question for ya, what about buying a rifled barrel, on the mossy, it takes just seconds to change out the barrel. If you know that you are gonna need to make a long shot, then just change the barrel. Im just wondering what your thought on that would be?

  • @woohog1 you can use a choke tube for that without changing the barrel.

  • Great Video! Lots of great info! Im an 870 man myself. Whatever works for you. I agree with you, there are a lot of people who feel theyre going to go raiding homes with their $2k ARs. Those people are gun donors. Sooner or later theyll come across someone whos going to relieve them of their weapon. I agree the shotgun is more than capable of defending against a mob. The shotgun is a formidable weapon. Nothing but pump action for me-reliable and can fire different types of loads.Stay safe!!

  • @jeepman65 Also for those who dont know, the Remington can eject the shells with out racking the slide. Like Bubba said, just have to depress the gate.

  • for the elastic shell carrier, you can either get your wife to alter it on the sewing machine so its tighter near the front of the comb, or you can slide it back and use a hot bolt to melt a hole in it and seal that hole so the sling stud fits into it, or both. if she wont sew the elastic for you, you can do it very easily with a needle and thread. it should not slide after alteration. most of those elastic carriers are universal and don't fit stocks very well.

  • I like my model (12) and my 870 I just found 2 cases of shells on sale at the worlds most for most outfitter. I will need some slings maybe.

  • Thanks , I have a Mossberg 590A1 (my 1st Shotgun). The info is greatly appreciated. I'll utilize your tips. Great job.

  • Get lives..... If you gotta take "combat" advice or common sence advice from "heating and airconditioning man" then you are allready fucked. This guys intented audiance must be 13 yr old inner city basturds. Dont forget to wrap your cell phone in tin foil ROFL..................<explains it all.

  • "watchmen" Xmen are going to save us..............By showing us how to load shotguns. If you gotta take survivalist tips or "combat" tips from a heating and airconditioning guy then your allready fucked lol. In point if you listen to "bunker bubba" you either are realy fucked or You stand around with the rest of the faketriots and lube each other up with this bullshit talk. now remember kids to bar up your doors with 2x4s because they are coming Just for you your so specail. ROFL delusion

  • Very good Info

  • Wouldn't all those shells attached to the gun make it a lot heavier thus throwing off your accuracy. Why not just have an ammunition belt?

They make buckshot with a big ball in the middle, it is more expensive but well worth the price!

  • @BabyJustWin true, and you can keep smoke bombs and baturangs in it to!

  • i hate those gates they always pinch my thumb.

  • @dp665

The gate can keep dirt and grime out of the chamber.

  • @BabyJustWin

if that were so then why would the millitarys prime shotgun be the mossberg model 590? it they use a shotgun without a gate and its fine for them it should be fine for me. just my .02

  • @dp665

Your military uses the m16 over the ak because of increases in accuracy and velocity. The m16(ar15) will jam if not cleaned properly. The ak can go through a sand storm or a tropical monsoon and still be able to discharge the weapon. Basing your choices off of military policies that are mostly political is not sound judgement. Reliability is #1 to me. If your weapon fails when you need it most, your chances for survival decreases dramatically.

  • My daughter went to the shooting range for the first time not too long ago. Let's just say I won't have to worry about her missing a target if I ever need her.

  • I like your attutude. Every man should know how to not only defend his home, But change the baby, Sew, Grow a guarden and proces the food,ETC. No tallent is beneith a real Man.

  • @enok45

The best talent is providing food on the table. Better know how to hunt and garden! If you are hunting for the first time, most animals are smarter than humans. It gives you great practice when the shtf!

  • great video, and the release for the shells seems to be the same on most shotguns my old jvc works the same way. never noticed it untill i watched this video. so i learnd some thing new thanks.

  • Guns and sewing machines, sounds like Al-Qaeda to me. All I could get on the DL was a .44 mag. A shotgun is next on my list. You make an excellent neighbor. Thanks for the tut.

  • I grew up around military assault weapons and many hunting rifles, but almost no exposure to shotguns....this is very good info

    thanks bubba

  • @wsarris424

The best killing weapon during ww2 was the shotgun!

  • Thank you Noel, my favorite is Mossberg also, I have a 12gauge. A Mossberg was my first shotgun, with the stock cut down and padded, great for women. Sharing.

  • @sweettina2

Winchester makes a nice shotgun but my favorite is the street sweeper!

    watch?v=xiMQ981lph0

  • @BabyJustWin Thanks for the link!

  • 4 buckshot, 2 slugs. the slugs can be critical hits kinda like in team fortress 2, LOL

    j/k ;p

  • Nice information, thanks for giving everyone a few tips, especially the electrical tape tip.

  • Slug being #1 would be best. If anything, you'll knock them on their ass. Follow up with whatever.

  • I prefer my Mossberg RoadBlocker. It literally has no kick, with the serious BMG looking muzzle brake. It's my backup weapon, I carry it in my truck...

Since I own a Mossberg, others definitely have to buy one.

  • I have a 500 too. I agree with you whole heartedly on this fine weapon. Nice vidio!!

  • Nice! Would it work on my neighbors?

Also, if things get too bad, do humans have any organs that need to be removed so the meat doesn't spoil?

    Thank you-

    Nice gun btw!

  • @toddhawley bladder, bowels, intestines i'd imagine

  • @NoPrivacyANYMORE10

LOL!!!!!! That's gross! I was kidding-

I take it your a "hunter"? Well, that's ok, but when I die, I'll have them bury me under an apple tree. This is so the WHOLE WORLD can EAT ME!

  • @toddhawley lol - sorry i cdnt resist.. I'm not really a hunter though i've been hunting and fishing on work outings plus i love rambling and camping out but i usually take those brilliant foil wrapped U.S. army rations which are miles better than their English counterparts; really really tasty (i'm English in England but with family over in the States who are pig ignorant as to what's going on despite my entreaties - that's why i tune in to bubba and Doc for their window on the world)

  • Great vid. Agreed! Pound for pound, you can't out-do a shotty. Birdshot, buckshot, slugs... You can do it all. In a SHTF situation, it's your best bet. I'm a big Mossy fan too.

  • Shot guns are great for close quarter combat which is good! But,I still think the ak is unparalleled!

    Great gun info,thanks man!

I just cant afford any more! :) But gun sales and ncic or whatever is up too on the background checking :)

  • @WeCanAllGetAllong

Agree Shotgun can not replace a rifle and and rifle can not replace a shot gun...two different tools for two different jobs...

  • @BillyJackson570 If you've got a 12 gauge shotgun you have the ability with 00 buck to hit the enemy with 9 (2 3/4 inch slugs) .36 caliber bullets all at once. Or you can punch the bad guy with the equivalent of a .50 caliber by going with slugs. A shotgun can truly replace a rifle if need be.

  • if your low on cash go with the Maverick 88....and yes they are made in Texas....the only difference between the 500 and 88 is the safety and the fore grip. $150 new

  • I'm a rifleman, but the shotgun has its place in warefare.

I only have one, a 1300 Defender made at the old Winchester plant.

  • You can easily remove the breach ramp in an 870:)

  • I love a good Mossberg shotgun :-)

  • Hey bubba , something that I have done in the past and it works well is to place your stock shellholder where you wont it , then make a small cut of the material over the swivel stud , place your swivel on the stud ... That will hold your ammo carrier in place and if you wish you can still tape the front down ... If you decide to try it would you do a vid. I don't have a camera , hope this may help ... God bless ....

  • i own the double barrel coach gun...old school but very effective.

  • ✭✭✭✭✭

  • actually guys what you really need is NOT buckshot but 6 shot heavy's Tight poattern good coverage and takes the legs off a man at up to 50 yards. big fan of the1100 series. also big believer in slugs for armor. nice vid. do believe shotgun is best most versatile weapon. my dad used it when he was on point in Nam - but he had an auto not pump.

  • If you have others in your home, you definitely DON'T want to use slugs! Buckshot is the answer for close-in home defense.

  • I got my Rem 1100 for free, cut back the barrel, silver soldered on combat ghost ring sights, upgraded the mag and recoil springs, sanded off all the varnish and coated it with textured non slip flat black finish, and put on a tactical sling. For ammo I have a shell bandoleer. But its only backup, of course my main is my HK91.

  • Glad I got 2 shotguns

  • Awesome video. I have a whole new appreciation for the Shotgun.

    Thank you.

  • I got a real old Browning Auto 5, old but in good condition.. I must pick me up a Mossberg 88 .

  • bubba i have the same gun the remington 2/3/4 00buck will ravage a man size target at 50 yards i havent even tested the 3" mag yet.

  • I have the same shotgun but mine came with a heatshield, but i would also turn the shell down so that they dont accidently go off in ur face.

  • cool video bubba

  • Hey Bubba, I almost forgot. You should get you the "Heat Shield" for you shotgun. You can get them on ebay for around $30 or less. If you have to use your shotgun allot in a short time that barrel will get REALLY HOT and the Heat Shield will help to keep you from burning your hands by accident.

  • I LOVE my Mossberg 88. It's not as nice as the 870 but you can get them CHEEP :) I picked up a 50 round shell over the shoulder belt for $5.95 at a local gun show here in Tulsa. I also have the round shot holder on the stock so with the shotgun loaded and the belt I would have a total of 60 shells on me if I have to run out the door :)

  • slings are excellent, i agree, it helps steady aim and faster follow up shots.

  • not to long only 18 min. lol Good vid. I got the 870 it works.

  • An A-12 Shotgun!!!

  • thanks for the vid, I had bought one awhile ago but had not fired yet, was planning to take out soon but had not fired one for years so the vid was informative

  • Nice breakdown.

You prefer pump over semi then?

    -TEW

  • @theeastwatch yes I do prefer pumps. I really like autos no mistake, but in the SHTF world pumps offer more dirt and mud reliability.

  • @bubba008009 i have a 500 with folding stock and a 3 point sling. i can tell you if you put the 3 point on pick up the barrel sling attachment when you get the sling. when i carry the gun in front of me that front sling mount puts the sling right in front of the barrel 9 xs outa 10. i didn't know about the barrel attachment but i'll have one next week lol. plus i never though about carring the side shells upside down makes perfect sence now i think about it thanks.

  • @bubba008009

Bubba, I suggest you buy some earplugs to go with your bug out kit. You probably already have them, but their essential in a high noise environment.

  • @BabyJustWin So you cant hear people In combat yelling comands to you Oh yeah thats smart you fucking wanker. Did any solders in any war in the history of the world wear Ear plugs? fuckn fag.

  • @MrAdamRosio

Yes tank or airplane operators who are giving or taking orders. You are behind the times. Invest in some information gathering and you will find they have ear phones that specifically block out all frequencies except those in the human voice range. I expect an apology after you do your research!

  • @bubba008009

Plus not all semi autos will function with all 12ga ammo, LE/Low recoil etc. All 12ga pumps capable of firing 3" shells can fire all 3" shells.

  • Great info,

    thanks for posting.

  • CAN U SHOWS US YOUR WHOLE BUNKER PLEASE

  • @mcneelyalex that would be a foolish thing to do.
