PS. Tapping 3 fingers toggles the Zoom on and off.

So don't worry about having to go to settings to disable the Zoom feature.

Actually, commanding this feature, helps us small print challenged folks :)

Today I pulled my iPhone 4S out and turned it on, and there it was, the opening screen zoomed WAY in... spontaneously... sure I have the Zoom feature turned on, but i never tapped the screen three times to activate it. It was just zoomed when I hit the home button at the bottom of the iPhone. Spontaneous zoom is real, but ignored by Apple and not even understood to be a problem by Apple or anybody else except the people here who need help when it happens.

All you need to do is put 3 fingers on the screen and scroll till you can see slide to unlock or just tap twice with three fingers and it will toggle the zoom thing. No bullshit fixes :)

The autozoom happens because the iPhone 4 has a default setting that if you double-tap with three fingers that it will zoom in. After you do this trick, Go into Settings - General - Accessibility then turn Zoom off so that it will not happen again.

But then you go and say "After you do this trick" implying that "you" the iPhone owner, had something to do with "autozoom" in the first place! So when you reflect upon your comment you can see that you have missed the point as well. The point is that "autozoom" is not something the iPhone owner does, instead it is something that happens automatically!!

@firdaus1823 Hopefully you can resolve your problem by learning more about zoom.... look at the "Video Response" above entitled "Fix Your iPhone Zoom Problem Here".... but basically I think all you have to do is turn off the Zoom Feature under Settings>General>Accessibility­>Zoom.

Apple and David Pogue have still not even acknowledged that it is a glitch, insisting that it is something the iPhone user does wrong to cause it. But we all know that is not the case. Oh well. At least it hasn't happened to me in a long while so I wonder if Apple did look into it??

AWESOME my phone for no reason was locked in my pocket and i got it out to use it and it was zoomed i was like damn, all i could do was voice dial, but when i got home i new someone on the tube of you would of sorted this,

The problem is that the iPhone goes into spontaneous zoom all by itself, and if spontaneous zoom happens and you forgot how the zoom feature works, then you are stuck with no iPhone until you figure out the solution. Hence the value of this video, which is lost on the iPhone purists that simply say this is a feature.

As more people become familiar with the Zoom feature, presumably this glitch will become less of a nuisance. My phone has not spontaneously zoomed-in in many months so I think that problem is fixed on my phone.

This is not a glitch but a setting to zoom in with 3 fingers that is turned on. You can zoom in and out by tapping the screen with 3 fingers. It is in the phone settings, you unknowingly used 3 fingers and it zoomed in, then you dont know how to get out. turn that setting off and this will not happen again

This zoom problem is only happening to people who unwittingly turned on the zoom feature, but failed to read or remember the instructions of how to turn it off. For these people a "feature" has become a "problem". Also I propose, without evidence except for my undocumented experience, that the Zoom feature occurs spontaneously on rare occassions which creates this problem for most users. I have the exact same issue, and my iPhone's on the Unlock Screen. I cant unlock it, can't move the screen around an the triple-finger tap did not work (I guess its cuz it's locked). I have a lost call, and I think that's the issue.
