  • This scene would have been much more meaningful if Valkyrie didn't recruit dead people. I would have preferred it that the dead stay dead and Jelanda's transformation happen at the end of the game after the player is allowed to get attached for her. The way TriAce pulled the story in Valkyrie Profile just made Jelanda's transformation feel meaningless.

  • I don't get how it's meaningless. No, she doesn't appear in any scenes for the rest of the game (and that's fine, as a living girl she was a loudmouthed brat). However, her death and recruitment paves the way for Valkyrie to get her hands on Arngrim. I'd call that pretty significant.

  • It's meaningless because she's brought back as a materialized soul, which essentially contradicts her even dying.

  • The whole point of a valkyrie in Norse mythology is that she chooses the souls of the slain to become einherjar. The whole point of the game itself is that the Gods thought human life and death was meaningless. So you're right, her death was meaningless. But it's supposed to be that way.

  • I know the myth behind it. What I'm saying is that the game would have been better off without the recruiting of souls. Instead, I personally would have preferred that Valkyrie didn't recruit souls, but living people instead. That way, there would have been more of an opportunity for character development ( which is something the game sorely lacked ).

  • That had nothing to do with the fact that they were dead. It had everything to do with the fact that, with the exception of very few people, these games don't go back to develop the many characters you pick up. You're just doing your job/trying to stop Odin from being naughty/trying to get revenge, and they're just tools to use for that purpose. Afterwards, they go away. It's not about them.

  • This is exactly where the game went wrong. I personally felt completely disconnected from the vast majority of the characters in the game because there was little to no character development at all. They had some good characters with somewhat original backgrounds going, but that was never exploited.

  • as with most of games with that many characters a lot fo them are stock characters the three most important, arngrim, mystina and lucian, if you played throught o ending A are perfectly developed that is if you play through ending A, which is supposedly the true ending. Also if you actually take the time to listen to what happens to them in Valhalla you learn more and the characters grow more.

  • for some reason i find this amusing.

  • I find amusing the guys being scared backwards

  • Hahaha wow considering it's just the tf backwards that IS pretty seamless!

  • You played it backwards.

  • That is crazy!! :)))))))

  • WTF!
