I can't get past this guys long moologue before we see anything (nice touch, standing in front of a wrinklet bedsheet). Then there's his constantly moving while showing the basics like where to get the dowload. I was getting seasick watching, so I bailed.
please tell me how to retrieve deleted movies from plex! I named the movie "Downfall" part 1 & 2 from my friends VCD. I then put the movie there. I was idiotic enough to erease part 2 & just call it "dowfall" the same as the main title. both have the same name so it automatically deleted it! I searched in the trash but the movie wasn't there!!!! can you tell me where is the movie. I searched my imac & the file disapeared!!!!!
It was a tad frustrating to listen to you talk all the time. In fact, paired with the frequent keypunches and "if it was, though it isn't, but if it was", gave me a slight headache. However, thanks for the effort.
@TheRealCrypto7 Of course you can play BR on mac : buy an external optical drive... or replace the one in the Mac pro. Devices are not incompatible with BR, Apple's philosophy, until now, is. Rumors say their next machines will have BR reader/burner shiped in. The same rumors that said BR would come with the new iMacs...
How much Hard drive space do you need to store your movies? What compression do you use for the Dark Knight for instance? What do you use to burn such a movie from a DVD to your hard drive? Sure something like Plex is great but how much media will you really have to access?
A typical DVD will be about 5 to 7 gigs. The best part about Plex is you can rip a DVD and play it in plex with no need to convert to mpeg. It will play the video_ts files directly. You'll also have the DVD menu, special features, subtitles, etc. in tact. There's a free program called "mactheripper" that you can use to back up your DVDs.
Sounds like to have a meaningful collection you will need 10 TB. I have 800 DvD's and VHS in my collection. Some are multi volume sets of many hours. This would add up really quick to have it available through my computer.
wow, that's a pretty big library. If hard drive space is a concern you COULD always compress the DVDs after you rip them. Or just rip the movie itself and not use the DVD menu, subtitles etc. You can always buy a 1TB or 2TB external and, as you start running out of space, you can daisy chain hard drives together using firewire cables. Just make sure to buy a hard drive with TWO firewire ports so you can add on.
wow! huge nose!
