Crimes are easier to commit over the internet, behind a cyber "veil". You wouldn't steal a CD from a shop, but you would use a Torrent. A car is a mode of transport. More harm is done on the internet than good. I remember when people like Maxwell Planck and Albert Einstein were awarded this prize.

Crimes are easier to commit over the internet, behind a cyber "veil". You wouldn't steal a CD from a shop, but you would use a Torrent. A car is a mode of transport. So any danger caused from its presence (e.g. Radio being stolen) will be because of THAT item, not the car itself. Either that, or you've a feud with another person, who wants revenge.

Social sites mean people are putting themselves at risk, with details about location, birthdates (many security mediums ask for a birth date, so knowing the victim's is useful), e-mail address and phone numbers at your disposal. Unsigned security sites mean your money's never safe with hackers capable of almost anything. The list goes on.

I think people can get carried away and create thoughts based on what we feel is the right thing to say rather than what is the right thing to say, i.e. 'Nobel prize for each and every one of us' as not everyone who uses the internet supports peace, so, although sounds nice, is a non reality. The internet is a wonderful tool for peacemakers, but is not a peacemaker in itself, therefore I feel can't win the award.

Well, it depends on how the Internet is used by humankind... It connects people all over the world which actually is a good thing. But it also is used and contains piracy, spying, manipulation, terrorism and child porn. I do not think that the internet will ever get the Nobel Peace Price, unless one limits the freedom in the World Wide Web so that everything is in "total" control...
