If I am being absolutely honest, I'd feel more comfortable in a 747 8i. They look much better! Plus, the A380 doesn't seem the safest - cracks on wing and aircraft, engine malfunctions and bumping into planes.
One of Korean Air's first A380s had an accident on its FIRST flight: The pilot scraped the wing-tip on the run way! I don't like Airbus planes. They rely on automatic flight controls in normal flight, and manual controls in emergency situations. Boeing aircraft are the opposite: Manual in normal flight, and automatic in emergency situations. When Qantas A380 had their problem that one time, it took the pilots 3 HOURS to figure it out according to the manual procedures...while flying!
@Snafu320 Please explain to me that which I don't "understand about". I was stating a FACT and my opinion of that fact (which my brother-in-law, an airline pilot, told me). Is that okay with you? I don't have the right to state my preferences here? You can disagree with me and I won't tell YOU to "shut up on things you don't understand about".
@mlovmo Oh your brother in laws a pilot, how convinient... The pilots wern't flying around for 3 hours trying to figure out what was wrong, their fucking engine had blown up of course they knew what was wrong. They were flyinhg around for 3 hours dumping fuel. You can't land a fullly loaded A380. Just becuase you THINK it's a fact doesn't make it so. Airbus is more than a flying computer and their philosophy is much better than that of Boeing.
@Snafu320 Of course, you're wrong: It took them 3 hours to figure out the proper manual procedures to handle the emergency, it wasn't just about dumping fuel. If you think Airbus is better, that's your opinion. Congratulations...you know what they say about opinions.
@mlovmo to put it ina simple way.. When hand flying an Airbus all the computer is doing is telling the flightcontrols what you are doing, it will only take full control again if something went badly wrong.
It's not like you order a burger or a bowl of noodle that you may have your order in 5 or 10 minutes. However, this is a plan, the biggest plan in the world. Not to mention we have to "get in line" to order that giant plan. Vietnam airlines placed her order around in the late 2009 and early 2010
@KatiushaVN4 That does not change the fact hat they have only orders for 236 planes, nowhere near what they had predicted, they need to sell over 700 A380's to break even on their investment and in 10 yrs they have only sold 236. The aircraft is a failure
Airbus is on the progress of making more and more A380 as the world needs those capable planes. Compared to A380, B747 is just a joke. B747 should be in museum of aviation by now.
@KatiushaVN4 They have not sold enough to make money on this the plan , its sales are a flop, say what you want but airbus annot sell the A380, apparently nobody wants it but you
No-one wants it???? LOL Gimme a break! I can name whole bunch of the airlines in the world using this aircraft, and more airlines are gonna have it as well.
@KatiushaVN4 No you can't, there is only 54 delivered to date and 236 sold.. You are no aviation expert, not even an enthusiast or you would know. They were hoping to have close to 1,000 aircraft sold before the first one flew and they have been flying for 6 years now. It's range and payload are not what they are supposed to be, its emissions are higher than predicted. Airbus has already sold more A350's than A380's and it won't be flying until 2016
Finally at least a goddam commercial that shows that the men and women spend hours making this beast and giving credits to them... Korea is my country and I LOVE IT =) HANGUG HWAITING!
I find it pointless why the text at the end of the ad is all in Korean and the voice over is in English. It would have sounded a lot more badass if were in Korean!
I FIND IT FUNNY THAT ALL THESE EURO TRASH ARE ARGUING ABOUT WHERE THIS PLANE IS MADE, WHETHER IN GERMANY FRANCE OR ENGLAND, THEY CANT MAKE THEIR MINDS UP.
@char1eston was actually made in all the countries you've mentioned. Wings are from North Wales and Bristol in England, parts of the fuselage are from Germany, the belly and other sections are from Spain then all these parts are transported to Toulouse in France where the final product is assembled from the pre-made parts and then is painted in whatever livery. Engines come from manufacturers such as Rolls Royce for example.
@HamburgAirport "...From there, the A380 parts are transported by barge to Langon, and by oversize road convoys to the assembly hall in Toulouse. After assembly, the aircraft are flown to Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport (XFW) to be furnished and painted."
I used to ride KAL's 747-400s for trips back to Korea.
I remember that in ads like the one that I found in my dad's study, "Korean Air bought the new Super Jumbo Jet 747-400" ad and I glimpse back to the days were 747 was still Queen of the Skies. Now A380s are coming in and it seems 747s might get replaced by A380s... probably...
Simply beautiful. No words explain the sheer grandeur of this beauty. The Korean Air livery is probably best color scheme that matches the A380s we've seen so far in operation.... certainly beats the Emirates, Singapore, Lufthansa etc......
@floridafishingo Korean Air was founded in 1962 and Pepsi changed its logo like what we know today in 1970. So Korean Air is the FIRST! Pepsi is second.
@323tiim Looks like you are having a HUGE mistake my friend... Korean Air was FIRST! In 1962, they kept those colors up and high and it is proud symbol of the nation! Pepsi's red & blue "yin yang likish" colors were adopted in 1970.

My comment is right, its does look like Pepsi, but i didnt say enything about, that Pepsi came first or anything!!! So dont say i have a problem, because there was NOTHING in my comment, that where wrong!!

Ugly aircraft but all the A380's have a nice interior.

As a passanger I must admit. A380 is perfect plane.
Last month I flew PRG-DUB (A330), DUB-BKK(A380), BKK-CNX(A320), CNX-BKK(MD82), CNX-BKK(A320), BKK-DUB(A380), BKK-PRG(A330).
And yes - I am alive. And yes - I felt safe and comfortable.
