  • dude wat kind of fish is that with the red on the fin? a jack dempsy? lovly!

  • It's all about managing each fish' needs.

General rule, each fish needs their own hiding spot and a few spares for emergencies!

If you want big fish to live with little fish, get them all young and let them grow together when they are similar size.

    You

  • Thanks!

Unfortunately, I lost the GT this morning :(

The salvini and GT have been fighting for a while and this time, the Salvini actually won.

He tore the right pectoral fin so badly, it was almost completely removed.

Had him in meditank for 3 days, but didn't make it.

    Very sad.

  • your firemouths are amazing

  • I'm going to buy a 96 gallon tank with one pair of convicts en one pair of firemouths... I am going to buy them all when there young. Do you think it will be allright?

    You have a nice tank!

  • Should be fine, but again, as these two are both boisterous breeds, ensure they have enough spaces to hide so they can retreat if the fight

  • thats more than enough room, convicts will more likely than not be the aggressor, but If never seen anything to severe from them, 96 is more than enough for them to establish territory.

  • That should be fine. But be sure that you have plenty of hiding places and be prepared to divide the tank.

Most fish at a juvenile stage aren't particularly aggressive or territorial and will be more concerned with 'playing' with the other fish than fighting.
