Everything about this game was class. Hand-offs, rucks, scrums, side steps...the lot.

I don't really give a toss about grapics. New rugby games should focus on the dynamics!

The only down side this game had at all was the ability to accidentally pass the ball when nobody was there, usually resulting in a line out or an easy try for the opposition.

@7dayspking It's as you would expect from a game of it's time on par with things like Fifa and madden. Where as Jonah Lomu's game was simply astonishing for it's time ahead of any other sports game and as the first major rugby game it holds a lot of nostalgia for you and old players !

This is far and away the best rugby game ever made.

Everything since has been piss poor in comparison.

If you have a PSP, you can play the PS1 version on it and see what everyone here means. It was innovative and engaging with classic matches for you to play as well as the standard exhibition and tournament modes.

I would gladly pay £20 for a direct port of this game on my XBox 360 right now. Best sports game ever in my opinion.

i think Wilson and Sleightholm were the fastest in this. Then Underwood, Saint Andre, Chester and Vidiri were pretty quick too.

The rucking, lineout, scrum and maul system is superior to EA Rugby. It's as if EA have taken the set pieces out of the equation. Here you had to fight for possession. The only letdown was the AI on attack, it was never a threat. I dont use the handoff or sidestep, it makes the game moe enjoyable.
