  • this is japaneese + indian chants right.... whats the point of the wailing girl chants

  • Love Abney Park.

  • Seattle is amazing =P

  • I love how well the women can pull off that ethereal haunting melody. Are we sure they aren't part siren (the mythical creature, not the noisy thing emergency vehicles use)?

  • Stop at 1:05 xD

  • Stunningly good. Hope you come back to Whitby next year.

  • I just saw the AnachroCon video in Vancouver here on Youtube and the mini-special on Steampunk on PBS. They were showing a band playing music. Was that Abney Park?

  • Wow this group is awesome. I love them :)

  • Got to go to their panel at DragonCon this year. Nicest guys ever, really. Refined senses of humour too. Had us cracking up. Made me a new fan just like that.

  • rammstein meets early 1900s

  • awesome!!!

  • Love the Park!

  • @spooge1234 music. it's called music.

  • @theefincham HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...epic.

  • Every song an adventure!

  • this sounds very good, not to sure about the vocalist though. I'd prefer someone like Scott Barnes to do vocals for this song.

  • I watched them live during the Saturday night concert in Old Tuscon Studios (Wild Wild West Con). Because the convention was steampunk and wild western themed, Nathaniel replaced his guitar with a banjo for two of the songs and still sounded amazing!

  • Come to Saint Louis!

  • I feel like the only 16 year old here...

Then again, how many 16 year olds sit up till 4:42 in the morning listening to pure awesome while making rocket boots... If only I can get ahold of some decent fuel...

  • @AniBenNerd your not the only 16 year old here :P but you probably are the only one up at 4:42 making rocket boots :)

  • @AniBenNerd I am 16 too, thank you very much, but I am not in the making of rocket boots, however, I have a lovely collection of pocket watches, canes, and a couple of interesting monocles!

  • @marth101

Whoah... sorry dude. But sounds EPIC!

  • The keyboard player is soooo cute, hiding behind her instrument and shaking her butt off!! Gorgeous!! And provides so much of the ambiance to the music. They need to bring her up to the front and turn her sideways for more exposure.

  • @davidl8ly The lead singer's apparently married to her. Lucky bastard. XD

  • @jkenn184 haha, true and well said

  • What is the song about, though? It sounds like one of the wives killed the other for loving the emperor or something.

  • This is steampunk? It sounds so... wild and exotic. I'm a metal person, but this is very good. This is ... me!

  • @Vortex289 Steampunk began as a literary genre and is essentially what science fiction would have been like in the victorian era, what they imagined the future would be like. It was developed into movies, television shows, and eventually music, as a sort of cross between precussion, techno, and industrial. There are some other great bands, too, check out "the cog is dead" they have some of my favorite songs from all sorts of different genres.

  • Whoever clicked the dislike button twice really needs to be hunted down. Like all of Abney Parks stuff this song is addictive!

  • I buy all of their albums. They're amazing. Even the songs that I didn't like as much at first? They grow on me. Haha!

  • I love the voice and the music. My son has become obsessed with them and we listen to the music daily.

  • king or rock? elvis.

    king of pop? michel Jackson.

king of stempunk??? abney park!!! wait. i guess there more of the father of steampunk, sence the practicly created the steampunk genre

  • @plackonteeth nah they didn't I am not sure who did but if you watch their videos they even talk about how steam punk was a genre before they started doing it.

  • @plackonteeth They might have pioneered the MUSICAL genre... For pioneers of the Steampunk Genre as a whole, though, you'll need to check out Mary Shelley, H.G. Wells, and Jules Verne.

  • @CBWaller1 ......they didnt invent a thing...they just play an electronica type music...as for Steampunk bands,,,there are many others....here is a rap one professor elemental ,,,check out his videos,,,,

  • @REDMEAT1969

Uh, it's closer to industrial. Not electronica. Learn your music genres.

  • this is epic! definatly a win

  • sounds like a dance band getting on the steam punk band wagon.. I wouldhave imagined steam punk miusic to be more original and quirky like the amazing image it has

  • @CenetRox well...Abney Park *defined* steampunk music, and were goth before that, not dance, so you're really kind of far off

  • @rkt739 I'd say they were more "Darkwave" than Goth, but the two genres are close. I personally just prefer to use the term Darkwave instead.

  • Captain Robert's face at 2:16 is creepy!

  • OMYGOD HER VOICE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • Naruto Hairstyle?

  • just wow!!!!!!

  • I love the song but as the wouldnt have steampunked the keyboard? Like old syle craved mahogeny so itd look like a piano or brass casing with typewriter keys on it?

  • The more I see of this band, the more I love them!

  • I fell in love with the style , well represented, continue on you can only get better at this point...I hope to really here your songs in the upcoming steampunk movie

  • Wondr why these guys arent more well known? Unique

  • @jumbofrets24 'Cause they havn't been autotuned to fit in with the rest of the plastic crap on the market. They're unique, they're amazing, so idiots don't appreciate them.

  • @whowantsabighug We don't want idiots to appreciate them. Think about it. How many great bands have fallen victim of the idiot fan base?

  • @whowantsabighug Steampunk has PUNK in it's soul. Do It Yourself attitude and devil may care for society's standards or the lowest common denominator!

They've also grabbed a bit of the "Future Shock" somehow thrown in to show it's Cyberpunk roots.

  • @whowantsabighug abney park is actually pretty famous here in reno.

  • @jumbofrets24 lol, abney park used to be a cheesy goth band no one really liked very much many years ago, I'm glad they found a new niche market and did themselves a makeover, they seem to do well now hehe, funny.

  • That 'singing chick' has left the band!

  • This just became my favorite song ever o;< I am writing a few steampunk stories and I needed some back ground music for part of the animation and I think this might fit in perfectly!!!

    5/5 :3 freaking smexy!

  • But what do I know. I don't know the story behind this band. Just that their music is awesome and very uniqe.

  • These guys are the best!! They have such awesome stage presence and supreme-O character and musicality.... Give us more!!

  • @earthnoteproductions at least for the captain that is how he dresses and acts off stage

  • J'adore! =)

  • Very cool :)

  • that singing chick rly hot D:

  • @zombiefriend

And that is why she left the band. Abney Park only used her for sex appeal...or that's how she felt at least.

  • @ZahnGhor

They could just get some dancers to do that. She must have been a self sentered bitch. The sex appeal probarly was a part of it, but people never keep untalented people in their band, no matter how hot they are.

  • @Blackvampirecheese You know some people don,t like feeling objectified? It doesn,t make them self centered bitches.
