I watched them live during the Saturday night concert in Old Tuscon Studios (Wild Wild West Con). Because the convention was steampunk and wild western themed, Nathaniel replaced his guitar with a banjo for two of the songs and still sounded amazing!

@Vortex289 Steampunk began as a literary genre and is essentially what science fiction would have been like in the victorian era, what they imagined the future would be like. It was developed into movies, television shows, and eventually music, as a sort of cross between precussion, techno, and industrial. There are some other great bands, too, check out "the cog is dead" they have some of my favorite songs from all sorts of different genres.

@plackonteeth They might have pioneered the MUSICAL genre... For pioneers of the Steampunk Genre as a whole, though, you'll need to check out Mary Shelley, H.G. Wells, and Jules Verne.

They've also grabbed a bit of the "Future Shock" somehow thrown in to show it's Cyberpunk roots.
