I find a lot of swedish people I show this to here in glorious Göteborg (cough) can't really tolerate the singing or accent, which is a massive shame because I think it's gorgeous, maybe it helps I don't understand most of what he's singing.
I fucking love this song so much. It's amazing that I can even when I'm not sure what he's singing about. It leaves a lot up to the imagination. It's like a painting. If you like Dungen you should really hear the band, FORSA from Taiwan on Borrowdeer Records. Amazing amazing stuff!
i'm from sweden so i will try to translate it for you. maybe the lyric will make you dissapointed. i don't know i think it's good though.
"festival everyday, festival everyday makes me happy. the trains leave, the trains leave every year in the same track. pleasent out, weekend, you can sleep on my arm until it gets lights."
and so on..something like that, dont have time to write down more right now.
everything is going on it feels so much more than you and I have desire to put up with the afternoon goes and we have a long, long time left before the night reels in tomorrow comes rain then you can aja baja imse vimse rod for one is in tomorrow it was cold and one can be the others or you and I have festival
The lyrics are actually wacky, and I speak swedish but I am going to put them through an online translator and adjust it just a little bit.
Festival each day festival only day makes me happy The trains goes each year the trains goes every only year in same track comfortable [...], weekends you can sleep on my arm until it becomes light
It's a certain "stoner-ish" Stockholmian accent he sings in, quite unusual among young stockholmians nowadays but very prominent among the working class who grew up in the southern inner parts of Stockholm 60's-70's, (Södertugg, "South chew"), and also in some Swedish 60's-70's music, like Ted Gärdestad and diverse prog/progressive artists.
I really recommend Ted Gärdestad and his song "Sol,Vind & Vatten" if you like Dungen.
I guess breeeegs is swedish, cuz I am, and I'm sorry to say that I'm not to fond of their dialects either. Oh yeah, I think he/she means dialects? or maybee I'm just all wrong.:)
nah, i'm not, i'm from the States, but i enjoy this music a great deal despite the fact that i can't understand what's being said and the accent is rather grating!

Oh, my favorite song by him. Can't believe this is the first time I've seen the video.

sorry if you all noticed but he tries to sound really bored when he sings "festival every day makes me happy"
also compare to "Ta det lugnt" (take it easy) which is not at all very calm.

i know! and its irritating! it sounds like they're literally singing through their noses!
in spite of that, however, i enjoy this music a great deal

It's just his way of singing. It's not like a accent thing.

Han sjunger inte på södertugg. Karln är ju från Västergötland, och det hörs. En stockholmare skulle till exempel aldrig uttala ordet 'med' som 'mä'.
frayspray 1 year ago
Tja, jag gör det och är Stockholmare :p Det skiftar lite, även om jag medger att det framförallt i gammal Stockholmska är vanligare med "me".

If you arent swedish then how do you know they speak with an accent?
ihateamericasomuch 4 years ago
because i can tell that they're accent isn't American, and i've heard Swedish people speak, so i know what the Swedish accent sounds like
