  • Great Song

  • Shit, ORIGINAL song!

  • Well done - although I like Nazareth's original version a little better - just a little.

  • Ahhhhhhhhhh............yes.

  • A lot of good groups came from Canada around this time.

  • Gene Simmons is right. Canada Rocks!

  • best Canadian group absolutely

  • @alexrourke1984 I wouldn't say Helix was the BEST Canadian group, you must be forgetting about April Wine, Triumph and of course RUSH!I seen Helix in 1987 for this tour when they had Haywire opening for them!

  • the original from nazereth i think is better, but don't get me wrong this is good.

  • these guys are pretty much unknown to most. very good group though. bought long way to heaven in 1986 i think it was and nobody i knew had ever heard of them. too bad, they dont know what they are missing.

  • one of the most beautiful love songs, every time I listen I get excited

  • Great video, miss this era. Thanks for uploading such classic Froman :)

  • @Sean021122, completely different song outside of having the same name but that being said, Britny Fox's 'Dream On' is an absolute classic. Maybe I'll upload that video next. Consider me motivated.

  • I'll take Britny Fox's 'Dream On' over this 7 days a week an twice on sunday ;)

  • Just Awesome, they have so many good tunes!!!

  • hahaha! ive never heard of this group! theyre good! my name is like a call sign given to me by my shipmates in 2004 at fallon nas better known as top gun naval strike and air warfare center. i have seen a g.i. joe character, jeans and now a rock band with the name, lol whats next?? <3<3

  • is he really saying is it hard to tell that you're fucking yourself?

  • one of Canada's only true Heavy Metal bands.

  • top super

  • Awesome version! Love it.

  • helice....

11 imbeciles q no saben de musica

  • Even though it sounds almost like the original...I like it!

  • come see them in Port Colborne July 29th.... for FREE!!!

  • I love Brian's voice. Truly great.

  • I like both versions...It would be cool if Nazareth and Helix teamed up onstage to duet this song.

  • Dream on Though its hard to tell Though youre foolin yourself Dream on You can hide away There is nothing to say, so dream on Dream on Though its hard to tell Though youre foolin yourself, dream on You can laugh at me because Im crying You can tell your friends how much I begged you to stay You can live your fantasy without me But youll never know how much I needed you Dream on Its so easy for you Though Im broken in two, dream on Dream on You can never see What youre doing to me, so dream on
  • 80's Music !!!! itz Music the Way it Was Ment to !!!!

  • A trailer park boys favorite.

  • Opravdu dost dobré. Nedělají originálu žádnou ostudu.

  • k this version of this song which is vastly superior has 10 per cent of the original by nazereth...to whom im thankful for penning this, but really??????

  • @TheCaptainmarmalade 10 percent veiws. really wasted that night!

  • 11 Justin Bieber fans have been here.

  • @youbestbequiet -What are all you Bieber fans going to do when he fades away?

  • @MrSpiderken Why do people have this obsession of Beiber bashing? Honestly, it's like comparing an apple to a candy bar, let it go, there's enough music for everyone to enjoy. Simple minds bash, open minds listen and keep their ignorant opinions to themselves.

  • @MrSpiderken lol they're gonna commit suicide hahahaha

  • fet bra

  • ahh que classico viu ! very nice

  • This song is originally was written and sung by Nazareth in 1982

  • brings back memories!!

  • CANADA ROCK!!!!!!<3

  • this has to be one of the best songs of the 80s

  • I was born in the 80's and still need this feeling from the 80's. That was time of real rock and disco music. Nowadays every nerd can buy a guitar and become a "single use" popstar... I wish that era could come back again.

  • @Xantophia disco in the 80's disco died in the 70's

  • Great cover) !!!

  • Ахуеть!!!! я не слышал!! Парни молодцы!

  • was Paul the Singer? he's R.I.P? bummer. saw them in L.A. at the Roxy ( right next to the Rainbow Bar) in about '86 or '87. they were cool. i was in a band called "Northrup" down there at the time, Tryin' to get signed. man, miss these days.

  • @drumdude46 no, he was the guitar player. Brian Vollmer is the singer

  • @drumdude46 I am a drummer too and i miss this music like hell.

  • I still miss ya Mr. Hackman, R.I.P.

  • This is pretty good but Nazareth's original is a bit better I think.

  • @DGWpg I agree :)

  • Dream On - 11 retards dislike this element. keep on listenin' your shit...

long life to the REAL Music !

  • @quintoorazioflacco HaHa I disliked even though this is an awesome song. Stuck on 11 though :(

  • Absolutely awesome!

  • The 80's music will always be the best I lived it and I will always DREAM ON !!!

  • me too 80's is the best music in the world....dream on

  • What an underrated band!

  • cool song :)

  • Haven't heard this in ages.

  • Long live 80s rock ballads!!!

  • doing security for them tonight cant wait to meet them in bathurst NB Canada

  • @MsFxstc How did it go?You meet Brian?

  • @moose2cool yep sure did he said that we had a very nice quiet small city

  • There's some right twats commenting on this i.e. Machammerballs and Phreeeekinstine being the biggest ones. Glad we've got wankers like that who don't have much of a clue. oh and Machammerbitch it's not by Helix you homophobic prick.

  • the lead singer look like he could be david coverdales long lost twin brother.but great voice and great cover even though im not a helix fan

  • I've had this song running round my head since early this morning.

  • Had this song running round my head since early on this morning.

  • what an awesome voice wasted on such crap music.

  • Ahh...go the bloated 80s power ballads.

  • I never noticed before but it's the same set as Wild in the streets.

  • Better than Nazereth!

  • I saw Bruno the other day and thought this is the gayest shit I have ever seen, then I saw this video, and now I can say, with all due honesty that Dream On by Helix is the gayest shit I have ever seen.

  • @Machammerballs You seem to be gravitating toward 'gay shit'. Personally I think this song rules! If you decide to come out of the closet and embrace 'gay shit' I will support your decision.

  • chvr

  • great cover to a great song! gawd i miss real music!

  • Good cover, well done. Clover long rock Canadaaaaa!

  • Good cover indeed!!! :)

    beautiful song tho!!! ;)

  • he look a bit like david coverdale. But great cover

  • Darn it...I wish I could just watch these videos and listen to these songs without falling in love with him again. But I cant....*sigh* Yes I am still loving you Brian <3

  • just saw these guys tomight, hard working band, cheers Helix

  • R.I.P. Paul Hackman

    1953-1992

Tragic loss of a great talent

  • Honestly I'm disappointed of all this artificial rock bands that follow the cliches imposed by the glam apparence.

They're all the same...They felt compelled to conform the pompous trend of their time...Yes,that trend has produced some bad-ass songs which are sublime and immortal.

The difference is that while 40 years ago (I can't believe how much quickly the time si flowing @_@ ) boys grew up to became this kind of rock stars, now they grow up wishing to become some emo-metal-pop-cunts.

  • @Cerdelimo ok, i'm 15 years old and i hate the "emo-metal" style. but i love glam and hair metal, there are gret bands like warrant and danger danger, and they are not emos.

  • I love this band

  • Good cover of a spectacular song....

  • It's Nazareth song !

  • AWESSSOOOOOMMMMMMEEEE!!!!!!!!!

  • helix is such a sweet band name

  • 1:13

    Garth from Wayne's World anybody?

  • Haha totally, but the attractive version.

  • Dream On que balada linda

  • i like helix's cover of nazareth's classic. good song indeed. helix is a good band straight from canada. rock on

  • @TheBrian2517 This is nothing like Nazareth's Dream On, only the song title is the same

  • @switcherx oops, I meant Aerosmith's Dream On

  • @switcherx helix' sounds much better

  • Helix was great. \m/

  • The singer reminds me of David Coverdale from Whitesnake.

  • Helix's cover of Happy Christmas (War is Over) watch?v=xjZgHYKB6QA

  • Helix's cover of Happy Christmas (War is Over) watch?v=xjZgHYKB6QA

  • Fuckin´ amazing song of one of the greatest bands in the world! HELIX!!!

    Rock on!

  • I think both versions are great, Nazareth made a great ol' tune out of this, and then Helix remade it, and did a pretty darn good job at it.

  • I saw these guys in a bar in Welland,ON in the early 90's, they rocked all 15 people!

They really gave it hard, even though such a small crowd. Great show.

  • awesome man, i seen them at rocklahoma last year......

  • Fucking amazing cover. Didnt think id ever want ANYONE to cover a Nazareth song but ...... Soooooo glad this was done, and so glad to hear it again, seems like it's been a million years

  • It's not a fair comparrison of Aerosmiths "Dream On" and Helixs' version. Aerosmith is singing the Led Zepplin version that is way different in all aspects of song writing.

  • Aerosmith is singing the Led Zepplin version? First-off, Led Zepplin never wrote or performed a song named Dream On. Second, this version being done by Helix is a remake of a Nazereth tune, which is a totally different song from Aerosmith's "Dream On". Two different songs with the same name.....But neither song named "Dream On" have anything to do with Led Zepplin.

  • I like the Helix version a lot more.

  • Agreed.

  • just wanna know... who originally wrote this song? is it helix or nazareth?

  • Nazareth. Helix did an amazing cover!

  • For me dream on of aerosmith are totally different.

but the way, i can mix this song with "did you ever needed someone someone so bad" by Def Leppard... : P

  • Thats cause it is different. This is a Nazareth song.

  • they do a good cover of Def Leppard's "She's too Tough"

  • They actually do it better. I happened to open a CD sleeve for one of Def Leppard's albums and they didn't have anything good to say about Helix and their version. Pissed me off!

  • mmm I like them both so I can't say which one I like better...yea they shouldve said something since they did a great cover of it, I agree

  • RIP...Paul....youre playing ...plays on forever, Cheers to all Helix fans!

  • It's got nothin' on Aerosmith's Dream On!

  • to tottly diffrent songs

  • Of course they're different songs, my point was that Aerosmtih have a better Dream On. For Example: "The band Zebra has a song called Drive Me Crazy, but it ain't as good as Ratt's Drive Me Crazy" as in Ratt wrote a song with the same title as the Zebra song and the Ratt one happens to be a more enjoyable listen.

  • mmmm...HELIX...saw them at Massey Hall in Toronto in '86...met them back stage too...very cool for a 17 year old lil puke :)

  • Fantastic ballad !!!! Helix rulazzz!!! Keep on sleaze!

  • brent is living in kitchener now adays with his wife and still on tour with the band but constantly changing members

  • I spent 13 long months on the road with Helix, during the No Rest For The Wicked NA Tour. Awesome bunch of guys to travel with.

Helix and Trooper 2 AWESOME Canadian Bands.

Even did 4 months with Nazerath.

AHH the good old days. LOL

    Damn I feel Old Now.

Pass me my prune juice. Hee hee

  • Wonderful song!

  • goober jensen brent doerner is still alive in is still in helix again with brian rob and idk who else,

  • Excelente 5*****

  • Such a good version.

  • Awesome song!!!

  • Comment removed

  • aint this by nazareth?

  • Yup.

  • THE SINGER LOOKS A BIT LIKE DAVID COVER DALE are they related?

  • Hmmm...let's use the name of an Aerosmith classic, use a double-neck guitar like Stairway...BAM! Instant hit! Only they forgot the hit part. Actually, love the genre, never heard of Helix, pretty good song but really just like so many others of thier day.

  • this is a nazareth cover smartass

  • this is nothing like the Aerosmith song

  • the original is from Nazareth

  • Nazareth Rocks. these guys are good too.

  • i just seen these guy's in newmarket ont...they rocked...got 2 hug the singer...i made then sing this song at the end.....hope 2 c all again...come back 2 newmarket......xox

  • who plays guitar in this band! or has

is gary fraser a member? anybody know

  • This song is from their 1987 Lp "Wild in the streets" and the guitars were played by Paul Hackman and Brent Doerner. On their "It's a business doing pleasure" from 1993 there is a Greg Fraser listed as a guitar player.

  • Buitretom,

Don't quote me on this but I believe Brent Doerner died and was replaced by Greg Fraser. Helix has gone through many line changes and one of the original members, not sure who, just recently rejoined the band. The only mainstay has been Brian Volmer, the singer and founder. Great Canadian hard rock band!

  • Paul Hackman died when the equipment van rolled off the road in B.C. Brent is doing solo stuff now with his band, and you can see his band 'Decibel' videos on YOUTUBE.

  • Helix is one of the most underrated bands of the 80's but for me they are one of the best metal bands of all time ALL HAIL HELIX!!!!!!

  • ewk D:

  • Que cover tan hijueputamente rebacano !

  • MULLET WIN!!!

  • i PREFER dAN mCcAFFERTY and Nazareth's original. when music was REALLY great.

I'm canadian so i still like HELIX, though.

  • metal ballads is a demostration of power in yours hard lifes

  • Canadian Coverdale. Except better.

  • Just as good as Nazareth.

  • old stinkie winkies !!~

  • Brian Vollmer whether singing a ballad or a heavy song always delivered.HELIX RULES!

  • I agree with you sammycircle !!!!

  • Good cover, great memories..damn am I really getting that old..lol

  • i met my first true love on that song, and 3 months after,it was my depressing song cause she left me!!

    t.djonge

  • Similar to me - only she wasn't my true love and also it was a different "Dream On" rock ballad by the band 'Britny Fox'.

    I still got dumped though...

  • Helix is fucking awesome.

  • Simply awsome song. 87 was a great year.

  • Ah, one of the best bands I've seen as of yet.
