I lived in Spain for a year and it was my impression that the Spanish have a particularly biting sense of humor. They enjoy making fun of, and bringing attention to, people's "otherness". Quite often I had people yelling epithets at me on the street because I look so obviously non-Spanish. I can't imagine what Hell it would be to have Tourettes in a place like Spain. No offense.
