I figure Evil Dead has a CD why not the FLY? I guesse Evil Dead did better because it made fun of itself and was suppose to be really campy and cheesy where this was possibly suppose to be as dramatic as the movie where you feel sorry for the characters loss of humanity. I think if maybe they did it in musical format instead of opera it might have sold better but who knows just release a damn CD Something I really want to see a DVD even a single disc no special features.
I wish they would come out with a soundtrack or DVD. From what I gather reading review offline most people hated it the fans loved it and I never got to reallyy listen or watch it...I cant even find a script or play bill online and there's no CD or DVD released yet not even on bootleg. I think they really should release a dvd and CD I would love to see this Ive seen some of the photos the make up and costumes look awsome.
I'm a huge fan of Howard shore and I think that his fly score was always underrated. The Movie itself is a masterpiece and a favorite of mine. I also like Opera. Taking such a great film, with a plot that is already suited for opera and making it into an opera....incredible. Really neat. I want to see this.
Even if it isn't good, I will still like it based on my love of Cronenberg and just how cool the idea of making a stage version of this is. Howard Shore should do a crash musical....
"The LOTR scores were pretty bad"?!? LMAO! Are you actually in possession of any kind of human-based musical taste? The LOTR complete recordings are one of the best and most perfectly done compositions/renderings in the history of film soundtracks. So, if you've only listened to the basic recordings so far I'd strongly recommend you to take a listen to the complete recordings!
Actually this is the most exciting thing Howard Shore has done, even with its many shortcomings, this is the best Shore has done and I hope he doesn't stop. The LOTR scores were pretty bad.
OMG!!!! I remember this movie!!! I would love to see it as an opera!! How amazing!!!

I love Howard shore but this doesn't look good as an opera... Leave it to the Phantom now I enjoyed that.

@HectorJW2007, they were? And seriously, you consider THIS the most exciting thing Shore has done? Most experimental is more like it.

I worship Howard Shore's soundtracks to "The Lord of the Rings". And I like opera. But this looks jaw-droppingly terrible. Yeesh.

Indeed, this is like Videodrome, the Musical.

Sadly, I can see some desperate theatrical company attempting something like that.
At least Howard Shore kept a lot of his original score for this.

Bravo to Placido for his derring productions over the last several seasons.

@donde2k Because Howard Shore and Cronenberg were that fucking bored with life

The music is horrible. A waste of money and talent.

it is an operatic version of David Cronenberg's excellent horror film, "The Fly" ... it is available on DVD and well worth seeing
