That's 30 secs slower than Stefan Belof's run 25 years ago in a Porsche 962 with Group C engine and aerodynamic restrictions, and on the older rougher surface of the track. One would think that 25 years of technology, a complete lack of engine and aerodynamic restrictions, and a smoother track would result in a faster lap time. If I wanted a track car, I would get a 25 year old 962C. If I wanted a road legal car, I'd get something with a racing pedigree like a Ferrari.
@realrideracing lol that 962 is a lemans racing car while this isn't and it does have lots of restrictions if they wanted to go all out they would have. They made a car between zonda f street legal and a lemans car.Zonda beat ferrari 599xxx which are in the same category. And the driver of zonda said that he can go faster but it wasn't necessary. This car isn't a full blown racing car even top gear said it
as for the moment..i play nurburgring in my gran turismo 5..atleast in that way a dream virtual reality come true hahah...by the way listen to sound of the zonda r..sounds like F1 hahaha....you guys are lucky for being there in germany! =)
if i win to lottery ticket..i will travel to germany to watch fast cars and atleast to drive in nurburgring..from my country philippines to germany..that could be fuckin awesome!
@Dennis89Nor thanks man...actually i work hard on my business here..and once i have enough money i will travel to germany in nurburgring..yeah my dream to watch and to drive in nurburgring is awesome...nurburgring rocks!!!!
If I recall correctly, it is open to the public between 5pm and 7.30pm on weekdays and between 2pm and 7pm on weekends. There may be some changes to this on and off season.
Also, there are lookout points from which you can observe closed events. A lot of car manufacturers use the track to test pre-production vehicles there, so if you're lucky you might get a glimpse of next years line up.
@DeNicoPeeke the track is open for tourists nearly every day.
mostly at the evening and on sunday the whole day.
in the meantime car makers test their secret prototypes or car magazines test new cars (sport auto is the reference for nürburgring test drives)
you can go to the track and watch these people driving. the nordschleife is sooo big there are many spots where you can watch them very closely. for free of course.
@nyege2 you don't even know difference between race and track cars! race car is built for racing championship or other racing matches, this is track car and that mean that you could use on track where ever you want without leaving team...only thing why it is not street legal is because of slick tyres...and 5x of pagani zonda r will be street legal
damned that was loud.
the only italian car i like.

There so many spots. "Brünchen" "Breidscheid"
I prefer "Pflanzgarten" near to "Brünchen" where cars get airtime

@nyege2 Thats because the critism is mostly from drivers...which have a Pagani in their playstation....but not in their garage.

@MafiaManV hmm dont know... mark basseng is really a great driver, especially on the nordschleife!
he also drove the comparison with the zonda, enzo, koenigsegg, mc12 on the ns...
so i think he knows what he is doing ;-) but maybe its possible to drive it faster.
