@lissireed397 you don't think so? Ever been a child forced into a foreign language? Takes a month or so to start talking. She hasn't learned to say anything anyway yet. She's imitating. Mimicry is the first step.

Humans have grammar hard wired into their brains. It's known as "universal grammar". In the absence of language, the child will invent one. When introduced to one, a child will start to pick it up instantly. takes adults a little longer.

Also Melissa who played Helen in 79 was waayyy to old to be playing a 7 year old and didnt play the roll well at all. Patty who played Helen in 62 was way better. Patty also played Annie in the 79 version. I liked her as Helen better than Annie. The 2000 version was good though. Not as good as 62 but still good none the less. Although the scenes were still basicly the same there was enough differences in there to make a difference and to give a new movie feel to it.

Okay so Ive seen all versions of this movie. The 1962 version is by far the best. I am please with this 2000 version but 1979 was a huge disappointment. In 79 they tryed too hard (or mayb not hard enough). Everyscene was exactly the same but fliped. So if something or someone was on the right then they or it was flipped to the left. I guess that was their way of putting their own feel on it or something. You know, so its not exactly the same. But it was the same so they completely failed on that

I'd be pretty upset if all the attention was going to Helen and they were spoiling the mess out of her while bickering with me. And he was living during a time period where many people would have thought people like Helen weren't all there and dumb so it wouldn't be fair to say he should think of them the way we do now either.

She became an actress, vaudeville performer, political rights activist, author, and Lecturer. She was also the very first blind and deaf person to graduate from Radcliffe University. We would've never known blind people could do that if Helen Keller was killed. You are the stupidest and most evil person i've met.

@MissIndigo4321 lol well, he is just an actor, but, you have to give his character some credit. I think, if i'm correct, he's kate's son (maybe he's keller's, i could be wrong), but he probably was an only child for a while and then Helen came along and she became both deaf and blind at like 6/8 months old. The parents spoil her to death, and the only way he can feel part of the family is by his sarcastic remarks.

Actually, Helen was about 18 months old when she got sick and became blind and deaf about 3 weeks afterwards.

@YamiandHikariYuki Yes you're right.She contracted scarlet fever or rubella,but the doctor did'nt know what she had,and called her illness"a congestion of stomach and brain."Her parents and the doctor especially believed she would die from this fever.But helen keller didn't.In the book she explains this period as a nightmare,and painful period where her eyes grew drier and drier every day and her mother didn't realize she was blind and deaf when the fever left helen.It took her a few days.

Even after only this short time I still have to say that the Miracle Worker from 1962 is the best! The movie has onw rare atmosphare and all the other ones are just copies. But good is that this story won't be forgotten. It is a very important story I think!
