I do repetition practice like this, but I dont "feel" the improvement, or don't see it transfer to an actual game. Do you think i should just increase the number of times I shoot (I hit like 25 to 30 shots per drill)?
maybe it's pressure that got to u? :p cuz usually i make most of the deadly shots, but when it comes to race or when it comes to the last few balls of the run out, i end up screwing up.
On a personal note (after reading a few comments) I personally find snooker a hell of a lot harder than English 8-ball/9-Ball/American 8-Ball, I can play all pool decently (I'm not an expert and i am a fan of ALL cue sports) but i can't play snooker for shit, But i love watching snooker!
My highest break in snooker was a fluky 14 (lol), I have broke and cleared several times in all pool!

"...if it becomes too easy for you, one thing you might try is utilizing a pocket reducer..." HELLO how about stop playing 9-ball and get into snooker?!
How about you quit being a jerk and put your own videos on here if you know so much? Personally I think this guy is doing a lot for billiard players everywhere by organizing this stuff for us so we can utilize these drills and techniques to improve our game. So quit whining about snooker (especially since many of us can't try it out anyway) and give the guy credit for trying to help in whatever way he can...
i've had difficulty finding a community to start playing snooker in my area, also... i've not found the rules of snooker very obvious, do you have a resource i could refer too?
Kinda sick of people comparing snooker and 9ball and 'concluding' that snooker is 'harder' or 'better'. They're two ENTIRELY different games.
As an example; if snooker's so much 'better', why isn't Steve Davis or Ronnie O'Sullivan as successful on the 8ball/9ball circuit as they are with snooker?
I agree that fundamentals are there for snooker; but you can't compare it against 8ball/9ball.
Also; if you haven't noticed, the cloth (for one) is completely different to an American 9ball table.
Try using right hand English up and down a snooker table, and notice the difference compared to a 9ball table.
Notice how on a snooker table, the cueball veers off in a DIFFERENT direction depending on which way you're shooting.
And with 8/9ball the patterns are ENTIRELY different to snooker. off the break, it's all randomized. you learn patterns and how to use the rails. With Snooker, you're limited to 6 balls which are constantly RESPOTTED. so in essence, you only have to think about
a minimum of two reds in comparison to a minimum of three balls in 8/9ball for a succesful run.
color clearance for snooker is straightforward. it's a set pattern you can practice in a simple manner.
THERE IS NO SET PATTERN IN 8/9BALL!
I'm a fan of all cuesports, myself. there are ups and downs for each and every one of them, and you can't really compare them against each other. ESPECIALLY if you're trying to "debate" which is better, or which is harder. it's all personal preference.
Absolutely, two different games! Sure it is harder to pocket certain shots in snooker than in 8/9/straight pool or one pocket. But the expectations are different as well. Running a rack of 9 ball is much easier than running a rack of snooker, but running "a" rack of 9 ball wins you nothing. You have to run MANY racks of 9 ball to beat other top players.
how about some videos of you playing some top level players, cause you can practice forever and still not win a match. i played in a league for a year and a half until i started winning.
I won the first league I ever played in. I have won 4 tournaments and finished 2-3 in about 15 tournaments. I match up well with amateur players. Off coarse that doesn't mean anything when you talk in terms of pro players. I am not pro, never claimed to be pro but would love to be one day.
@vafangulu3x i won my first league match i ever played after playing for only 7 months, his videos are extremely helpful in all aspects of the game especially with his narrations. and for the cash i bet he destroys you =)
@vafangulu3x well i lost the first yes now i have won 3 years in row my team comes first 3 yrs in a row we work hard for our win we dont even have the best playing conditions ha i am proud of getting 3 league trophy
I like your style. you teach using visual diagrams, audio commentary and then a demonstration. keep it up:)Its good that you can actually do the drills too, it shows that they can be achieved and the method of doing it which isnt always apparent when just using the diagrams.
Sweet drill. I guess it's smart to make sure you've got the same setup every time. The way I practice cut shot's is I just set an object ball a certain distance from the pocket and put the cue ball in the same general spot every time. (the spot varies by a foot or so). But then I just shoot the shot, then bring the object ball a bit further from the pocket and shoot the shot and so on. I think I'll start doing it more like this though to get a little more consistancy in my practice.
ha. ur gloves were like...Peace Out!

another way to step this drill up would be to have the CB frozen to the rail playing on the rail thin cut shots,,, those are a bitch sometimes

Really excellent video and the advices are easy to follow too. Please, keep going and may the force be with you !

Overcutting doesn't reduce the effect of cling or throw. It merely compensates for it.

How long have you been playing pool? You are the best ever! I'm going to try to be like you, and practice on my pool table until I become very good.

I would of hit the ball closest to the bumper first then the next one. That way you don't hit/alter the other balls as you did.
