I did a search and found out that Eve Plumb did appear in a Chatty Cathy doll commercial with Maureen McCormick; so this is probably the one. The little girl in .46 and 1.05 looks like E. Plumb.

I had the Fort Apache playset. I was walking on my way to school (about 1981-82) when I saw this playset thrown out. It was sitting in front of someones house, along with the garbage cans, waiting for the garbage men to pick it up. I grabbed it and rather than take it to school & face ridicule, I hid it in the bushes of someones front yard & picked it up later when school let out. Took it home. It was missing alot of pieces (no cannon, few soldiers, etc) but I still had plenty of fun with it.

In the 1970s, Maureen McCormick who played Marcia Brady on the sitcom THE BRADY BUNCH/ABC/1969-74 provided the voice to Mattel's updated version. She also appeared in a black and white TV commercial for the original Chattys along with her "Brady Bunch" sister Eve Plumb.

Can get lost for hours on YouTube! Cherished memories from a time when things were simple and fun! My Chatty Cathy looked like me, including the glasses....nickname Peabody from the cartoon! If you pause at .37, you can tell it's Maureen. MsSk8rgrl you were adorable & must have many intersting stories. I lived in the SF Valley & met many stars, including the younger two from Family Affair at a local bowling alley! If I'm not mistaken, didn't tragedy strike one of them early in life?

Thank you, you are very sweet. Yes, Anissa Jones-Buffy on Family Affair died of a drug overdose at age 19 or so. It was the late 70's. She had a very hard time of it after FA went off the air...the whole typecasting problem,etc and got into drugs. Johnny(Whittaker) tried to help-he was Jody on FA and continued acting and is very happy in "private life". It can be hard for some kids and the ones that come out OK have very strong parental advocates for the child's best interest-not their own. ttyl

The "Instant Replay" game also used a "record" you slid inside the player. This one looked like a transistor radio, and each record featured a play-by-play of famous pro athletes like Jerry West, Bart Starr, Willis Reed, Wilt Chamberlain, Willie Mays, etc. Circa 1970. Quite the coincidence: My young kids have become fans of classic TV shows like "The Brady Bunch." The other day we just happened to be watching the "Marcia Gets Creamed" episode you reference, only you weren't serving the ice cream. Your character was in the ice cream parlor with Marcia's boyfriend and she let the two of you have it with whipped cream. Got big laughs from my little ones. Thanks for sharing your memories. Looking at these ads from the era of my youth(I'm 43) makes me think the kids today grow up so fast. When did you last see a little girl in a Sunday Best dress and hair ribbons? Or an 8-10 year old with a baby doll? I remember being laughed at when I was 6 for taking a Humphrey Bear Doll(Australian children's show character) to school. I guess the trend to force kids to grow up was starting then. Such a shame.
