Manson may not have been completely innocent of the crimes he is convicted of, but I would agree with chilkatman, the guy isn't a killer, he is guilty of being an excellent manipulator, period. I do believe that he has served enough time for his manipulations. He is now suffering the consequence of fame rather than crime.
I'm sure Charlie, if paroled, would wander out into the desert with his guitar and a few fig seeds, spread a blanket, and play some chords.

I love Charlie and I always will. I would give him a home because he gave my Mom a home. He is a good guy. People are afraid of what they don't understand. He can stay at my house. I would not be afraid one bit of him being around my kids. he could even watch them for the weekend. The real people to fear are the police.

Yeah, and you know what? Poetic justice has been served. Robert Shapiro knew he was defending a "guilty as hell cliente." In recent years, one of Shapiros sons overdosed and died from drugs. I'm not gloating in the fact, but really.... what goes around comes around. Shapiro should have refused O.J.s case, and told him to go to jail! Instead, he defended a killer, raked in millions, got lots of media attention.... it was not worth it, to get O.J. off, scott free. He too, reaped what he sowed.
