Nice tips, I almost didn't watch cuz I'm decent at jets but you have some tips I didn't know. I definitely under-use the after burners and don't spot enough. You actually can freelook by holding down on the dpad. Id like to see you play some hardcore jets, no 3rd person!

i dont really like it when people say "stay within these speeds for x maneuver" i feel like it should be more vidual (or at least thats how i learned). for those on a shitty, small tv, we cant see our speed or height. we basically taught ourself visually (speed, height).

idk I like the flares but it depends on the situations if I'm fighting good pilots I tend to use extinguisher if not flares.

The graphics are pretty amazing, better then Ace Combat. Nice setup and tips. You should start a series of all the vehicles in BF3.

In the bottom left corner you will see a small number e.g 8.7g which is an indicator of how many Gs you have in the jet. The perfect turning speed for jets is right on 9 Gs.

Also rocket pods fired from a distance are the best against vehicles because you can reload and shoot another volley.

Flares are the best countermeasure because they have the shortest reload time but I advise playing the jets as a hit & run vehicle, your not GOD just because you pressed E,X or Square.

Wrath, I haven't heard anyone making jet tactic videos talk about this: Missiles lose their lock right before the map boundary. So you sprint to the outside of the map and the missile will lose its lock. Once you see the countdown make a U-turn and head back.

Yeah I agree with you after some time you dont even need heat seekers or flares anymore, you can really do some work with the MG after you get used to it :p

Wrath, just to let you know about the exting/flare situation. Exting used to be a lot better because your jet could survive 1 stinger / 2 heat seekers without instantly exploding. You would get disabled and could save yourself. Now if a jet is hit with 1 stinger / 2 heat seekers the jet it will explode before you can exting. Flares are a better option most of the time but of course it does depend on the situation. If no one is locking onto you then you can always switch from flares next life.

If you are using extinguisher against an inexperienced pilot and they get a disable on you fly like you are disabled. Hit the extinguisher and pretend to be trying to control it. Inexperienced pilots will think you are just gonna crash and won't finish the kill. You just fly to the end of the map and heal up while he is focused elsewhere.

Hold down on the D-pad Wrath youll be able to look around free, i use it quite alot to great effect, Fly high out of bounds and spot Jets using that tech

@M0antjeuh it really depends on the situation. if you stay above the fray, and are good at fighting, always aware of the helicopter, you should't get shot at much.

@wrath111377 If you want to use the jet as ground support while taking out air as well use guided missiles as they lock on to ground targets without a laser painter. Ecm jammer Is a great alternative to flares, they have the same reload speed it seems like and they do deflect rockets fired at you if their on your ass just like flares. I personally think its better then flares because it gives you the chance to kill the people locking on to you rather then getting locked on again.

@wrath111377 While I agree with you that it depends on situation I have found that constantly having your "safe zone" high in the sky really doesn't end too well. For the next video you make, which will most likely be some more advanced jet techniques, , I personally would like to see you outline the importance of being able to fly low, utilizing not only altitude and speed but the aiming circle around your minigun reticule is extremely useful in terms of aiming and setting distance

Nice! I always fuck up when flying in 3rd person. I'm getting the PC version tomorrow since I actually have friends who play there, unlike PS3. If I'm not mistaking I think you have that version too? You have any experience flying jets on PC? I tried it in the beta and it was really hard. You prefer the PS3 or PC version? :)

FYI...WHilst in cockpit view, hold the D-pad down, then use your right analog to look freely. Yeah that's right it let's you turn your head. I noticed at 3:55 of the video you don't seem to be aware of this.
