If you read bad reviews on the Nastromo, its almost always over the D-Pad, and the users Failed attempt to use it for movement.

The up, down, left, right on the D pad are awesome FOR HOT KEYS / CUSTOM Macros... The points in-between them not so great... Just don't be a noob thinking you going to use it like a Snes controller to moving around with.

@nicks99322 Yes. But... it's sort of a stretch unless you have larger hands like me. And because I play high-mobility class in my game, I use the lower right button as a jump, so chances are your thumbs are going to be too busy to justify using the D-pad as a WASD/ ESDF area.

I've been using the N52te for a while, and it IS a secret weapon (I also use the Naga). I've had people ask me how I can do such good DPS, and they just don't get it when I tell them it's the N52 (and a lot of practice). Only problem, Razer refuses to update drivers for Mac Lion. So you either have to get a new Nostromo, or get ControllerMate. But controller mate comes in handy for other things too, so it's a good investment for $15.00 USD.

I just got a nostromo a few days ago. It was big for my hand at first, small to begin with. Gotten used to it, and I use the D pad for movement in wow, So then I can use the spell buttons without stopping my attacking to hit a movement key. I'm a mouse turner so it all works out.

Hey swifty or anyone else reading, i was wondering how you feel about using the thumbstick on the nostromo for movement (instead of wasd) in combination with the mouse for turning and camera manipulation. This would then leave the rest of the keys and your fingers free for skills, and macros, and such. It seems like it would be more fluid...

@imnotsweet As I written before in this flick, it goes more than well to use the thumbstick for movement. But the trick is to NOT bind it to WASD, but rather to QWES and then use the mouse for turning + ofcourse cameramovement. Ofcourse you cannot tie anything important to the thumbbuttons, since as soon as you rech for them you come to a complete standstill.

Speaking as a mmmorpg'er though. Can't advice anything about FPS's.

As a warrior.. what happenes when I change from battle to berserker stance, I got different spells on different place there. how does it work?

I had 2 "main"s. Warrior (Played main tank and Arena) and Priest.

The trick is to use the Nostromo as a extension to the game aka rely on the ingame mechanics and adapt the Nostromo to that aka use the Nostromo as a keyboard, NOT as a 3rd program macro monster.

What I did on my warrior is that tied the stance buttons to the Nostromo scrollwheel. Up > Arms , Down > Fury , Click > Defence

Then the Nostromo keys 1 > 12 mirrors ingames 1 > 0 and +, ´´ on the regular keyboard.

@johanlmcom Thanks for explaining:-) Yeah I plan on using it as a keyboard, but I just cant seem to figure out how to get all my abilities I use with my keyboard (got quite abit of keybindings) on to the nostromo, but I got the naga in the mail so that adds some buttons. But it was mainly the movement issue I was hovering over, I guess I'll use the thumbbutton for that aswell.

@skarpskyttar You can't, but in a way you can.

You make a macro (aka you press "record" and then push the keyboardkeys that you want activated.) and then you can actually press every single key on the keyboard at the same time. You just take away the timedelays recorded in between each press.

Or you calculate the "cooldown time" between each ability for it to work and set that as a timed delay in the macroprogram.

Another tip is one can use the scrollwheel for changing stances.

I use a classical Mx518 and were looking around for a replacement, found your Naga video and then this. So going to get the Naga. ;)

On the downside you "loose" on a way the other 2 "thumbbuttons", atleast for vital functions. Reason is simply that if you reaches for those you stop to a halt. But they still have uses, as for "autorun" as an example.

You will be amazed how much easier AND relaxing for the hand it will be to run with the cross and stear with the mouse.

Swifty, you have done 1 "mistakes" (well ... Imo) in your settings;

Number 1: You can use the thumbCross for movement, but the trick is NOT to bind it to WASD. You should use QWES. Forward, Backward, LeftStrafe, RightStrafe. Then you use the mouse to turn around (see Swifty's Razer Naga flick).

By doing this you open up all the other buttons for 1,2,3,4,5,etc.

I been using the Nostromo n52 since it 1st came out aka the Grey nonGlowing one for mmorpg's and I still love it. Been playing for years as a main healer/tank, secondary healer/tank + WoW Arena PvP and can't live without it. When they "Grey" went out out of production I even stocked up on 4 more some years ago. The original one still works so I havn't even taken em out of the boxes yet. :P

Used to play main healer priest myself. I put out all the spells + wrote all the ingame macros and then I programmed the buttons + macropush sequences on the Nostromo. I did ALOT of advanced stuff at first in The Nostromo, but the more I played the "cleaner" it became aka less macro's on the Nostromo and used the ingame macrocoding instead.
